Rfactor2 The VR thread -settings & tips

Has anyone commented that rFactor 2 looks better (In VR) than Project Cars 2?

It seems to me that if this is true, something very bad must be happening on my PC, because in VR PC2 it is much better than rF2 at the moment.

PC2 is installed and you start playing with a satisfactory experience in VR.
rF2 In VR, took weeks of tests and configurations to find the balance between performance and quality, without having arrived at anything conclusive and suffering constant dizziness in each test session.

As I say at the beginning, if what you say is true, something bad happens to my PC (and many others), because the experiences have nothing to do with each other.

My PC (Win7):
(Oculus Rift + i7 3.4 GHz + 8 GB RAM DDR3 + EVGA GTX 1080 8GB)

For me rf2 works better in vr than pc2. There is propably somekind of bug causing pc 2 not working properly on my pc.
I have 1080 ti and 7700k and i have to set almost everything to low and still it doesn't run smooth. with rf2 and ac i don't have any problems in vr.

have you seen the Oculus Rift @£349 for Black Friday?
I was tempted but will not drive much between now and April. These revolutionary tech products don't trend upwards in price. I will sit and watch/listen, maybe save for a GPU.

This isn't a tip per se, but download the HongKong track, they have done a good job of optimization on this one and it runs great in VR (for me on low settings).

I just had the HP VR1000 is really excellent !!
I tested just assetto and rf2 in sim and for now assetto is better in VR with my little config i5 3570k gtx 1060 6go to bad because I run 90% on rf2

Another thing Marcel mentioned in yesterday's stream was more optimisation passes for VR, it's known that AC works much better (smoother) than RF2 so at least they have some sort of target to reach.

Maybe whole my Wife is sleeping i could set it up and try because even Christmas day will be difficult to play with the entire family here :(

has anyone tried the new rift interface (Dash) with RF2. Does it eat up resources.
Would be cool with this new interface if S397 developed a rift native RF2

I have not tested with rf2 yet, but with iRacing and didn't noticed any loss of performance.
It was really great to be able to Pin the fuel and trackmap overlay (JRT) on the screen!

This is definitily a game changer for VR!

Out of nowhere I am now getting massive stuttering with VR. Nothing has updated, haven't turned the PC off or anything. Feels like it's running at ~20 fps or so.
