Rfactor2 Launcher Problem?

Hi all. Can someone please help? Have just bought a new PC with windows 8.1 Pro x64. and have just installed rfactor2 build 798. My problem is when I start the launcher, The launcher loads but everything is greyed out and I cannot enter into the game.
I have activated the game etc and have a full license. I had the game with build 798 running fine on my previous PC with win7 ultimate x64. Is there something I have done wrong? Am I missing something? I have searched the forum for my issue but cannot find what I am looking for. Please help.

Good Morning..

Couple of things I would try..

Make sure DEP is disabled.
You have allowed the launcher exe if you are running a firewall or virus software
also that you have opened the properties on the launcher and set it to administrator privileges..

Report back if the above has been done, or if it fixed it with the above..

It tells me that this program must be run with dep and will not allow me to turn it off? Have the Launcher starting with run as admin, I still have the problem

 

I have made available a file that we use to enable and disable DEP..it is a simple bat file.

Download it, unzip it to a folder on your desktop.

If you want to disable DEP (Data Execution Prevention) for gaming..just run the DEP_OFF.bat..
when finished..run the DEP_ON.bat..it will tun it back on..

windows 8.1 will not let me run that either lol. unreal

Ok dep is now off, Pc rebooted will give it a go now

I sir...will do what we can...don't get frustrated..it does work with windows 8.1 just needs a little help..LOL..

I am on our TS 24/7..sometimes It says I am there...but I might be-away doing other home stuff..

You have changed your Windows.
I think we should send an email to support with your number (rFxxxx) to reactivate

 

Well I had two hard drives die yesterday, as I had six ssd drives running in raid it affected affected the whole system. Bought two new 256gb SSD drives today and have reinstalled windows 8.1 Pro. Will get back to installing rfactor 2 and go through it all again asap

 

Just reinstalled rFactor2 on the new system with the new drives and now it works no problem go figure

I hope there is still some warranty on those..
All though the price is dropping, I will bet when you
bought them they were not.

I had a 125gb OCZ It took me almost 4 months to get
it replaced...I sent it back..and they tried to fix it...say what|||

When it was all said and done... It was new..so they say..

I hope you didn't lose a ton of important stuff?

I bought the computer from a friend. No warranty on the hard drives.
No problem though as I have two brand new drives now. Did not lose anything of note as it was a freshly setup system.
All good and now to get my rFactor 2 back up to how I had it before

Just a quick question. can anyone tell me how to validate rFactor 2? as in on the left under my name it says rFactor 2 not validated?
