And another question for those whose DLCs are missing. Can you load any track with any other car? Or does it show you an error like in my screenshot?
In my case, i did all the steps @oikworld suggested and all my paid content is there, loaded laguna seca + a btcc car without issues
I understand every one has different computers, operating systems, ect. I also know when I unplug my wifi adapter and put it in my pocket there is absolutely no internet on my PC. I do not have Ethernet cable connected or anything. Zero internet access. The game runs fine without internet, all DLC works for me. The only issue I have is menu lag, because the game is trying authenticate my RC account. I am just trying to help. I am running Windows 10, don't know if that matters...I hope you guys can get this sorted. Good luck.
Is not everyone. It is ISIMotor Simply Brilliant Rant: Besides the obvious bugs and glitches this is why so many have problems just running RF2 and LMU. Many wrongly assume all these errors are entirely engine related. That is simply not the case. I mean I don't blame them but my rF2 and LMU work as good as all my other sims. I can't speak for online because I wanted to avoid the entire thing till v1.0 What I don't get is why they could not allow offline versions of older builds like rF2 does. I understand not allowing this online. At least then I could have completed my extensive bug, bench and stress testing to nail final settings.
I thought of one thing that may or may not be relevant. Even though I am signed up for the RC (so I could get the free BMW) I have never participated in a online race. I have never raced online EVER in this game. Always single player. Never joined a lobby, official or otherwise. Maybe that has something to do with it?
Well I joined first build, next day I made a server on my own PC and never looked back. Issues ? would have been maybe a dozen days out of 1,000 Over 3 years of solid 24/7 making rooms for all to use anyway they wished. If you wanted top free roam, heck, then go and do it just don't screw anyone's laps was my only rule. lol Next few days I went to a couple other open servers and got kicked for doing burnouts lol League servers could have done a lot more to help open rooms flourish, would have just taken a few hours "open house" once a week each. All they seem to do these days is flood the workshop with useless rfmods. Rant: Early rF2 was without doubt, any doubt the best burnout sim ever made by a country mile. You could do brake locks, spin and turn like you were on a real burnout pad. Car reacted like life. 3 or more would make ballet gyrating in and out each other without a scratch ! So much smoke you could not see. You could do reverse flick burnouts just like Nascar even doing the complimentary 2 or 3 rotations. Close to real as you can get ! Now it is a complete joke You can barely spin a wheel, totally unnatural, fake, canned and boring. Drift community ( was none back then ) missed out on the best they would ever get with old engine from any sim but now there is no smoke anyway. Can't do a burnout unless you got HP but then put any car in neutral it will roll basically forever, all cars the same no matter their tyres weight or anything else. Even LMU cars will still roll from garage. We killed ISI and any hope of ever having stuff like that fixed....ISIMotor 3.0/4.0 blah blah blah
Could it relate to having rfmods installed or not ? Process of Elimination: Anyone out there has rfmods installed can't run Steam offline mode ? Anyone out there never had rfmods installed can run Steam offline mode ?
The only rfmods I have installed are ones I made myself, nothing from steam workshop except the f3 Eve mod. Nothing that would be considered "Official". Meaning nothing that involves DLC content for the RC.
That is why I mentioned it on the first page. When racing online you have a Driver and Safety ranking and a Profile. When you start Rfactor2 it looks to Authenticate the Profile, which is connected to a database on a server, so if offline it can't get past the Authentication and just runs like it's "busy", it's not that it starts and just doesn't have content, it just runs like it busy loading.
Maybe that is the Difference why it works for you, but not for me and Others. I just was just annoyed, because the Game tries to endlessly authenticate me in Steam "Offline"-Mode. And i think that it is related to the Racecontrol Service. But i have no Account for Racecontrol. Maybe, if i would join that System, i also could use all DLC Content with disconnected Internet. But i will not try it out. It is really shit ty, that we don't have the Possibility, to run rFactor 2 with or without this Steam "Service". It should be easy to program it in that Way, i guess.
No, that doesn't help either! for example I am connected to the racecontrol system, but without the Internet I cannot use the DLC cars! ♂️
@redapg , As I am sure you probably know, in the beta tab you can now pick v1132. Have you (maybe you don't want to, totally understandable) tried that version in offline mode? I am running that version as of yesterday because of AI issues in current build, and I wanted to experiment..but anyway, in v1132 there is no race control stuff.. it is disabled. No authenticating stuff going on. If you wanted to experiment or whatever. I thought I would mention it. Just a thought.
@Johnny Speed No, i missed that Info about the 1132 Build being available as a Beta. I will try that. But it is ridiculous, that i have to select an older Version to avoid that Authentication. It would need only a few Lines of Code, to solve that Problem. Something like. Check Racecontrol Database if(User has a Racecontrol Account) { Run Authentication } else { } EDIT I forgot to mention, that i need to use newer Versions, because i work at Content and to test in older Versions makes no Sense, due to the different Changes that have been made. But i will try the 1132.
