Maybe we can discuss the content release rate in other thread and leave this to discuss just the build.

Looking like from discussion that I will be giving auto update a head start before I put http links up. Jeremy wants you to try to kill it, I think. If you do, I'll post links immediately. If not, I will wait a bit so he has plenty of info of it working also.

I don't understand why people complaining about lack of new content here... We get a new build, and core game updates and new content are not even related... ISI don't need to release cars or tracks together with new builds! And we know that Silverstone will be released before British GP june 28-30th, it's only 2,5 weeks!!

Unfortunately I can't try the new build for a few days. I'm waiting for new PSU and motherboard, so that I can use my second 7970. Fresh install of windows, and fresh install of rF2 (very necessary because the beloved 'no games available' issue is back). However it doesn't look like a 'big' update, but nice to be able to alt+tab again, and as I'm running triple monitors maybe I'll see some differences :)

198 cannot update. 218 and 228 can. You need to either:
    1. Download 218 lite, install over top of rf2 install. Auto update to 228.
    2. Download 228 lite, install over top of rf2 install.

    rFactor2 Build 228 Release Notes

Thank you for this update. Please ignore impatient ungrateful minority.

Edit. OK I'm all ready to install now. Backed up packages, controller, etc. Been waiting for this update to fix some things that I most likely messed up last time because I ended up with data spread among different places, etc. and I was unable to host and had multiple overlapping package directories, etc. A real mess. So now I get to clean everything up and start fresh. :)

Thanks. Will this overwrite any settings/setups etc?

This sounds interesting... So now we can have something between "on" and "off"?
Reflections are really important and make things looks much, much better. I need more fps now when using 3 monitors, but I don't want to turn the reflections off. Now 'low' settings could offer slightly better performance than the before only available option 'on'?

Auto update works very, very fine. Fast, without any problems. Was done after 3 min. :)

I put everything out, but PLEASE if you have time, try to kill auto update by using it first.

Wow. Auto Update worked like a charm on my server. That, I think, is the first time I've had it work!

I would rather see ISI get the core functionality finished then we can assume the modding community will shift into high gear.

I look at my rF1 racing and 99% of it is modder content. I love that ISI is creating high quality content for rF2 (some of which we'lll certainly use in our league) but I really don't need any more from the team in that department right now. I just need things to get to a point where the modders that create what I drive (V8 Supercar, NAGT, Enduracers, HistorX, etc.) are confident enough to proceed with their develpment and release.

Keep up the good work ISI.
