    Hey guys!! I would like to report my VR experience in RF2. I made several tests with between the UIs and in all of them the UI-Old gets better, getting more stable and with more fps. There is some adjustment, because in the UI-New is very stable in VR. My config: Ryzen 5600x 3060 ti 32GB RAM Oculus Samsung Odissey Plus

    Old UI uses a graphics engine with less eye candy. A lighter code, I reckon.

    Yes, I suspect this would be true. The old UI is based on builds that don't have either PBR or SSR - so one would expect newer builds to be slightly heavier performance wise. Also, the UI shouldn't really have an impact on performance once on track, which strongly suggests the difference you are seeing is purely the weight of the newer graphical additions.

    Would you care to actually explain that position? - Because that is the complete opposite of the majority of feedback which you are insisting on posting everywhere.

    have you tried virtual reality in the rain? ...:rolleyes:
    From a tv camera, I mean, from outside the on board of the car it looks good, but when you drive from inside the car in virtual reality, the highlights and reflections and the shadows on the ground look very bad.

    by the way the spray that the car releases when it passes over the water looks black, and that doesn't look good either

    I hope you do not need to use Old-Ui always. Graphic updates only worked in New UI

    Incredible as it may seem in vr the graphs are excellent with the old-ui

    it's extremely difficult to benefit from the eye candy in VR. I have a 5800x, 3090, 32gb, REVERB g2 and I have made significant compromises on more recent tracks and even then, in clear weather and sun high in the sky, at Monza main straight I have stutters, etc...

    In that sense, I cannot say the same, I do not stutter in any official circuit

    to 1.0 Steam VR, not to 1.25 which is in pitool where it does supersampling but in steam vr it marks less than it is 3200 x 2724 = to 1 steam vr

    Those are similar/identical to mine. Number of visible cars? Rain effects? Shadows?
    Perhaps Pitool works better than StVR supersampling

    I have an i5 8600k and a 1080 ti, if you have better equipment than mine, something is not working well, or something in the background is bothering you
    I use MSI Afterburner and although my chart is Aorus I always use MSI Afterburner
    with the MSI I force the fans to work at 100% from 55ยบ of temperature vava74

    This.
    No way 1080ti runs pimax 8k at 90fps with those settings and that resolution. Or it does kind of, but half the frames are synthesized. Lucky for him, pimax's reprojection seems very good, so he is happy. Good for him!!!

    He has reprojection on. so half the frames you are using. Unfortunately the reprojection doesnt work well with G2. so you are stuck with 90fps and low settings, and poor perf...

    The way this new lighting (PBR and SSR) was forced on everybody (mainly vr users here) was such a disservice to vr users. option not to have them should have been included. Saying it shouldn't affect performance while on track if they are disabled, is just proven wrong when using the old ui.

    I have none of that new stuff enabled, yet with the update, that came along around the time the BMW M4 was introduced, i lost

    8xMSAA -> 4xMSAA
    Shadows medium -> Low/Off
    Texture Quality Full -> High
    PP Medium -> Low

    To have same performance as before.
    How is that not affecting?????????

    I don't know exactly when or what caused this drop in performance. All i know is what i had, and don't have anymore.
    From users standpoint there is really nothing more to it, is there?
    If you fail to see how this affects the opinion on these updates, i dont know what to say really?
