I got seen someone here said the the owners are leaving rfactor. So this means rfactor will end at the end of this year.

its sad to see this is actually happening and it’s been a well good 10 years of rfactor.

I could say what I think about this situation and who is to blame and where it started to go wrong but will save that for another time. It just a shame to see it end :(

That sounds like BS to me.
I don't see MSG killing off rFactor2 anytime soon... but I DO expect rFactor3 to appear to replace it after they get LMU out of Early Access ( and get console port sorted ) and they will use LMU as the start point for rF3

Unfortunately Dalmatian has a habit of reading things like the "We are orphans" thread, jumping to conclusions (plus some language barrier), and running with it.

Generally explaining things doesn't lead to much enlightenment.

It isn’t dead but we haven’t seen any serious update since last November 2023 so it’s almost a year. I

Whenever it does get abandoned by the corpo's, we still own/license the software - you'll still be able to use it on your own or network with other drivers. Aren't there still a few GPL leagues around?

Unlike iRacing, where when you stop paying them - you have nothing.

If not even the devs care about the simulator, there's no point in complaining.

rFactor2 will never die. (See RBR) And I think that nothing better than rFactor2 will ever be made, in terms of physics and FFB. There will only be improvements to this engine. It is unlikely that there will be another era with such great enthusiasm for internal combustion cars, as it was in the days of rf1, LFS, rf2. The future is in electric cars, and this means that generations of people will come who do not know all the magic of cars with smoking pipes! We already live in a time when studio 397 makes good cars, but they do not have those details that you can find in old mods. Since those mods were made by people with enthusiasm, who could work tirelessly, without asking for huge salaries for it. ‍♂️

It's getting more and more stagnant, they won't even make mods soon.

Rfactor2 won't be dead until its own community decide to do it

I've not fired up my PC but I read elsewhere that a new patch has been released on Steam.
    Can anyone confirm that?

I had an update yesterday but I didn't really look into what it was. That could be it.

Probably just some content update, hasn’t been any updates to rF2 in 2 months according to steaminfo.db.
