Rfactor 2 / Steam / pay for MP ?

Andre 1 hasn't been back yet, didn't seem to consider the options very well, and took the slightly ambiguous advice he received here the wrong way as well. I can see that having the two options could cause some confusion (certainly more than if there were no option but lifetime), but sometimes you just can't help people that don't help themselves.

On the other hand, if people in Andre 1's situation get/assume the wrong info and start telling other people about it... it doesn't really help, does it?

I never understood this price point conversation about regular 'buy to play' sims.

Fact is years ago many did and when you argued AC and pCars would be dearer
people laughed at you !! and retorted with feeble stuff like ..........." Oh look, AC just put out free car the other day !!! loool

I am not stupid  I was here I know what people said.

The fact is I was RIGHT back then ( they will be dearer ) and got more then a little trolled for it. :p

Will that option be available for separate purchase on Steam and when, currently it's listed but no price, you can only buy it as part of fRactor2 package.

Confused do you mean full life with no online lool ;) ( only kidding)

Has price listed now, I pretty sure it did for weeks, maybe it is your local Steam ?

Buy rFactor 2 with Lifetime Subscription - $84.99 USD

-------------------------------

Anyways like I said in this thread there was good reasons to buy both, alas that thread got trolled too.

Durge, for crying out loud, stop! Of everything you have written on this page, the only useful bit was the link to the Steam store with the price. Currently it is clear some have confusion over the Lifetime package, just help clear that out and move on.

It's like the third or fourth wave of question on Lifetime/Standard and now on Steam with the absolutely no multiplayer at all. There is customer confusion, let ISI handle that and make it clear to people on the page. Tim is active in these forums to see the pattern.

Maybe people may have not seen that thread, it never got closed.

Maybe others like me are waiting for non-steam subscription renewals to run out.

Tim did say it would happen eventually.

Many people jumped straight to Steam, most are happy, some are not.

Thanks to the few that offered positive useful comments anyways.

Buy rFactor 2 with Lifetime Subscription - $84.99 USD

Well, that includes rFactor2 itself. Most people are not so sure about their MP "Lifetime" commitment when buying the game so having option to buy it separately later would be nice.
This is what my local Steam has currently listed, as you can see Lifetime subscription has no price and can be purchased only as a part of the package.

And another thing, based on the price of 1 year subscription, Lifetime subscription is equialent to the price of 4.42 years of subscription (84.99 - 31.99 (game alone)) / 11.99.
Now, do we really expect rFactor2 be available 4 years from now in its current form, I personally really doubt that.
Thus goes my earlier question, does this "Lifetime" subscription buy online access to all future versions of fFactor or only rFactor2?

Personally I think that people are spending too much time in situations like this one. The real problem is that must of "simracers" were used to play rf1 for "free" and now, they want the same with rf2 no matter how stupid that idea can be...

We are talking about 0.84€/month... almost the same as a coffe in Portugal (In cheaper places!)

No one knows the plans for the future but there are a couple of things to consider regarding the likely lasting life of rFactor 2:
1- Licenses obtained would have to be renewed for rF3. There is a LOT of good stuff mentioned even 3 years ago that no one has any idea of the plans, but ISI has 1995 Reynard Honda in the bag, 80's F1 67 Eagle and other high-powered very desirable cars.
2- It would be a kick on the mouth to have the good stuff not be released for rF2.
3- Historically very few times has a sequel managed to obtain commercial success after a not-so great performing title. iRacing continues to be a force, Assetto got the rFactor 1 traction, and we don't know how well rF2 has fared but it definitely isn't top-of-mind yet.
4- Redeveloping content for a new game, especially in the future, will mean it will have to be new tech or it will already be dated upon release. Recycling existing material for rF3 would cause an online beating from people.
5- rFactor lasted a good 7 years, some people are still in it due to price/accessibility/requirements/lack of urge to upgrade given what's currently available.

Thanks, would still love to hear from the publisher himself answers to these questions, if possible:
- Will Lifetime online subscription option be available for purchase separately
- Does "Lifetime" applies to future releases of rFactorX, if any, or only for rFactor2

Simple yes/no will do, no need for lengthy explanation or reasoning.

Thanks

1) No. On Steam, you either buy lifetime or must buy the yearly online access renewal, if you opt for Standard
2) rFactor2

rF2 lifetime means just that; it's rFactor 2 forever (as long as it's supported). rF2 lifetime doesn't buy you rF1, and it won't buy you whatever comes next, whenever that happens. There's no generic "rFactor lifetime" option anywhere.

Will that option be available for separate purchase on Steam and when, currently it's listed but no price, you can only buy it as part of fRactor2 package.
It is listed on Steam, and lists a price.

If you don't buy lifetime initially, you can't upgrade to it on steam. If you are afraid of a non-lifetime pricing option, why would you do it? Buy lifetime then put your wallet away.

Do you need to hear more than the Steam FAQ and stuff already says that is in the news forum?

- not on steam, it's NOT POSSIBLE as steam don't support that upgrade.
- It's a lifetime version of rFactor 2. Kinda like how your free coffee refills if you sit in a restaurant don't apply if you sneak the cup in the next day.

I played the demo about 2-3 months before rF2 was released on steam. I then (at the time) took a chance and went the whole hog and bought the lifetime option (£54 or something around there). I've since sunk easily over 100hrs into rF2 (and moved to STEAM), I've amassed numerous free content either through ISI themselves or through ever increasing free MODs. ER Flat6 has just been released and I'll probably donate to their site due to how awesome the work is. I also own all URD content. You may be thinking at this point that I'm made of money but I can assure you I am not. What all this equates to is approximately 50 pence for every hour played (so far) and the more I play the cheaper its becoming. It can seem like a relatively large outlay to begin with, but with this you don't get what you pay for. Yes you read that correctly. You don't. You get so much more that is constantly growing, evolving and improving at what is an ever increasing rate of knots. rFactor 2 has been one of the greatest purchases I've ever made and it's the purchase that keeps on giving. Oh, one last thing. I haven't even ventured online yet! THAT's how much enjoyment I'm getting for my 50 pence per hour. For me this is a non argument. The more you play the cheaper and cheaper it gets. Here endith my waffle.
