I thought Coutie (or another staff member) had said that buying through the game itself will offer discounts as it will exclude content you've already purchased. Am I mistaken? It's a rough ask to buy packs and have duplicates I cannot gift someone else with individual DLC only discounted by 25%.

    Yeah, you’re mistaken.

rF2 packs don’t offer any discount for individual items you might own. The game just tries to help pick the best items/packs to minimise cost based on what you already have.

Correct, you will own items twice but can’t do anything with the extra copy. Been that way the whole time.

If you’re looking at multiple items or packs note the pack of everything is currently the same as a couple of packs normally are.

I picked up the total tracks pack, was a massive savings. I had fallen behind on the tracks but the total price was basically the cost of 4 individual tracks so i saved a bundle. It didnt matter that i owned some previous tracks just add up what is remaining you want to purchase versus the pack cost and see what works out cheapest. Usually the packs are still a cheaper way to go unless your missing 1 car or track.

Yup, so I did misremember the chat from a while back regarding already-owned content. I'll be skipping the sale unfortunately, far too many duplicates. I would be curious to try a couple of the Formula E tracks or other endurance content, or even the Indycar pack but with these prices, it just isn't good enough to entice getting "perhaps this is interesting" content, which is a shame.

Maybe if a la carte content is cut to 50% and packs cut to 75-80%, things will be different.

Ever since the Online Competition system became sorted, they have focused on supplying sale prices to essentially new users who need many items to fill up their garages for the online racing calendars. I have sensed there is more of an interest here for the singular car or track sale price that some users are missing. I don't know any of their numbers, but sooner or later they have to accept that 99.9% of rF2 users are here and there are not many more arriving. Single car and especially single tracks at cut rate prices will satisfy the current user base more than large packages containing duplicates of products already purchased.

Pretty sure you can buy it and try and then refund it if you dont like it same as any other games on steam. And for formula e tracks, you can watch an onboard video of the track, see that its rubbish and no use for any car and then be content that you dont need to buy any of them :>

But why wouldn't you just buy the complete pack for peanuts $83AU lol it will never get cheaper then that.

If you nit pick content you will pay more.

    https://store.steampowered.com/itemstore/365960/detail/3000/

Work out the cost per car and track buying that., must be $1AU a car and $2AU a track lol

Amazes me other sims come out and the cry goes up " buy the season it's worth it ! "
    Really strange

I tell you another thing, if it was rFactor 2 that had no "Mods" to speak of instead of ACC and AMS2 it would be the laughing stock of all sims. lol Ironic don't ya' think......

I assume there are many reasons to not buy the full pack, for instance if you dont want most of the content there :p I'm just pointing out that you can (as far as i know) try it and refund if you think its too expensive to 'risk' buying something you are unsure you like.

And if you were directly asking me why I dont buy the full pack.... i dont need it, i already have all the content i want.
