No, we could expand on this later. We wanted to get SOMETHING put in place that wouldn't hurt us too much to start with and wouldn't take too much time to implement. Later on, once other higher priority things get finished and we're further along, we could always go back and revisit if there was a strong enough demand for it....
Well preview video shows they use same size texture as rF1 for mirrors. It would be nice to have higher resolution. For the details we'll have to see a closed wheel car, so we will see next week i guess.
Hmm.. again I see an option, for setting mirror resolution easily Some games (current ones) have great mirror resolution but run a lower frame rate. Personally I'd rather have lower resolution at full speed. So being able to customise it would be great
Yes, of course, that was one of the options I was implying But, each mirror is its own scene... so like having independent jumbotron videos, it places a larger load on the PC to render it, and the higher the resolution the worse it gets. But then the same applies for full 3D crowds - so while I agree the options would be great, and hopefully we keep moving forwards as PCs can handle it, you don't currently have one that could run a full field with full weather with full-res mirrors and live TV cam jumbotrons with a 3d crowd. I doubt anyone does.
This one popped up on BSIM Racing http://h9.abload.de/img/403344_10150468772088z7ldw.jpg Some interesting new layouts for Mills there
Gjon posted that on his FB page. What you're seeing is the launcher (right) and the track selection in-software UI (left). On the launcher you're seeing 2 of the 3 options it will have, single player is off-screen (covered by the sim window), in the middle is multiplayer and on the right is mod mode. Then the smaller grey buttons at bottom right are used for mod management, config, etc.
full-screen menu will not be any? a switch from window to window ...? All right. After 2 days I'll be humming for three days, bursting into alcohol and good food, will come off and have fun, I hope the days will pass easily, and when I wake up, to be closer to the release rFactor2.
Completely agree. But, with RF2 being a long term sim, it would be good to have as many options as possible. 7 years after RF1 came out, i can run all settings max, 1080p, 50+ cars, mirrors, etc at 300FPS+ without issue. That's with a slightly-above-average PC. So imagine where the tech will be in even a couple of years, to run RF2.
Full screen will still be an option. For testing and troubleshooting, windowed mode is easier to work with, which is why most devs will run it during testing .
Ah, good! Thanks for your reply! Yes, when you develop that agreement, it is inconvenient to maximize or restore in full screen mode ... It is waiting, waiting for a very, very, very, release a beta version! Thank you that you are!
I really hope the beta comes out before 10th jan as i wont have my pc for a whole 8-10 weeks I want to try out rf2 before i move damn you santa you forgot my present
rfactor2 beta test: http://issuu.com/autosimsportmediallc/docs/autosimsport_vol6num1 We can hope that Gjon is drunk and push the "magic red release button" on the 31 at midnight And Tim you are in the holidays more online in the Forum than "at work" ;-)
Yeah, I know... but Shum always wants it 'now', so I was trying to explain why it probably wouldn't be that useful
You're 100% wrong, Portuguese has nothing of "French", both Portuguese and French has a lot of Latin. Anyway, I was just trolling.
My other work slowed down a lot during the holidays (as other businesses shut down), this gave me a bit more time for the forum.
