VR support is VeRy good news!!
Just curious, Marcel said that RF2, source code and branding is owned by 397 and that 397 is wholly owned by Luminis. Where does the ISI/Luminis partnership come in?
ISI dev team going to Studio 397.
But where is the partnership with ISI other than 397 hiring the Devs, partnership usually means stake in ownership.
Actually it's the highest number of laps ever run at LeMans
Thanks Chris for clarifying. I misunderstood "most laps".
Only the content team will move from my understanding. ISI main team will continue to develop "not rF3".
Great news to hear this
Yeah, good name until somebody breaks that record which is unlikely to take too long hehe
Does this agreement mean, that ISI will get the DX11 and VR updated engine too?
Ehmm.. quoting directly from content of the link in first line of the first post:
"The new partnership plans to release an ambitious roadmap for rFactor 2’s further development shortly; initial plans include improvements to the user interface, a DX11 based graphics engine including VR support and new propositions for strategic partners by the end of 2016, as well as increasing the frequency of new car and track releases."
The question was about, whether only Studio 397, or both S397 and ISI can use the newly added features.
In other words, is the new engine going to be a common platform that both companies can build up from?
The partnership relates to RFactor2, not a new engine but further development of the current - not sure I get the question.
he is asking if ISI can use the features developed for rF2 by Luminis to their other projects
I think he means if ISI can use the new features/techs for other projects, for example 'not rF3'. Maybe ISI won't need these new features because 'not rF3' is not even a race-sim!
Tim confirms in the Race Department interview that "not rF3" is a racing sim.
I've just started reading the interview
As I can see from interview VR is coming to rF2 in Q1 2017.
Should we start to speculate now what it might be?
