Why do you ask about data acquisition plugins in this thread?

ISI didn't provide such plugin for rF and I doubt they will provide one for rF2. What they will most likely do is to provide plugin API again.

I'm sure someone will write a plugin. it is not too hard, really.

I'm going for new shaders by guys from Polska (graphics) and newers mods to rF-1. At this very moment, those are most promising facts in Race Sims backstage. It seems like it will be like this until 2012 if not later.

That remark seems a bit prejudice. We know what Autumn is.

There's no Autumn, it's a fable from Europe. For me it's just a name of a Gran Turismo track.

At least this delay is allowing good rF1 improvements. When rF2 eventually comes, I think that plenty of great Mods will be triggered.

Can someone elaborate on how someone can run rF2 on a server when the first post in this thread has this line: "Why is the ability to host a race from within the software being taken out? To ensure a consistently improved online experience." ??? I didn't see a single thing about this any place, so would I be wrong to think that in order to race online with rF2, that we (users) will have to join and/or pay for online racing through ISI servers (only ?) much like EA & the latest NFS games? Will there be a cost for those who want to run rF2 on their own server, and is it possible in the 1st place? If Yes (possible), how will this be done/available?
Sorry if I have missed something about this else where... But that line in the 1st post, and the lack of details about running rF2 online really bothers me. Especially since my buddy and I run our own races regularly with his PC running as a server with rF1... Will the ability to host our own races ever be added back in at a future date?

rFactor had two options for the servers.

Option 1 is the dedicated server, and rF2 will have a dedicated server.

Option 2 was to host "in game", via Connect--->Create.
Option 2 is removed in rF2.

Thank You for clearing that up! What a relief!!!
Now all we have to do is commit a crime to get the money for our own server machine, being that we're both "poor boys"... :<)

Quote: "Will there be documentation supplied with rFactor 2 or will we have to figure things out ourselves?
Support will be provided and some documents will be provided both with and after the initial release
    ."
I've had nothing but problems with rF1 in finding Detailed Documentation on (car) modding...
Do you expect this to be addressed way better in rF2??? Any Details???
Besides the limited "documentation" by Speed12 & Bristow, (I've been searching for a long time...)
do you know of any Highly Detailed sources for rF1 (Links, Please!) that could help those of
us who are pretty much amateurs at this? I'm mainly talking about physics, but more would be great too.
Having stuff that I could pass on to others seeking this same thing would make the day of a lot of people I know of...

Just run the dedi on the same machine as you race if you want to serve. Same as rf(1). No need to commit anything.

Yes, dedi and client can run in the same machine, and saving resources than hosting via
    Connect--->Create.

As long as somewhere in there you can set the affinity to separate some cores for the client vs the server. That new AMD 6 core would be interesting to mess with 3+3 or 4+2..
