rFactor 2 Build 982 Now Available

Sigh...

My update appeared to be working fine until near the end it reported an error with a particular component.

Exited and re-ran the update from launcher. It starts OK, but then stops. Here's what it shows:

Checking for updates. Please wait for result.

It also now says I have Build 0, whereas before it correctly reported 946.

Old build will no longer run--says at least one mod must be installed to run.
Do you have malware? Viruses? User permission failures?

Best build for me as a multi view user ever ;) :p
This is the one I waited for from the beginning of rFactor 2 time :rolleyes:

No I would say he has removed controller files. ?

Same thing used to happen to me when I removed all profiles I did not use....ergo you got errors with new build.

When you repair tyre colour, temp track(always20), tyre model isi formula, safety car etc??? Very slowly... I cant believe it...

I don't get people

Only rooms beside mine have new build up either are pass worded or have add on content.

Great way to test a new build :cool:

lol

Why would a tiny file like those be removed? Just to clean up?

Well I have done it countless times. :rolleyes:

I STOPPED taking out errant files I did not use because updates would have errors.

Not errors that stopped it from running, in the update report.........

You figure it out, I never made the sim Tim ?

lol :)

Can anybody tell me how to use the new rules system?

I've noticed that there are two new files in the plugins directory (KnockoutQualifying.dll, StockCarRules.dll). But i don't know what to do with them.

Not much you can do till Nascar is released would be my guess ? ;)

What is the use of testing series rules on another car, I don't know and don't care.

Can't wait to experiment with this:
Code:
struct PitMenuV01
{
  long mCategoryIndex; // index of the current category
  char mCategoryName[ 32 ]; // name of the current category (untranslated)

  long mChoiceIndex; // index of the current choice (within the current category)
  char mChoiceString[ 32 ]; // name of the current choice (may have some translated words)
  long mNumChoices; // total number of choices (0 <= mChoiceIndex < mNumChoices)

  unsigned char mExpansion[ 256 ]; // for future use
};

Team features coming soon as I can find some free time. :)

Stuff left out of the change log. CLI options for the Launcher: +connect="<ip>:<httpport>" and +dedpass="<serverpassword>"

Finally.

Check out <DataPath>\UserData\player\CustomPluginVariables.JSON for some hints. By default those plugins are disabled.

You could be right, DD. I have ALWAYS removed extraneous controller profiles because they are a pain in the arse to cycle through when you have to switch back and forth among the ones (two or three custom) you want to use. This needless switching wouldn't be necessary if we could assign a controller profile to a car (been waiting ten years for that feature update).

This removal has never caused an update problem for me before, but perhaps this time it was preventing the smooth recovery from whatever caused the stoppage the first time?

Anyway, Lite install fixed it all and new build is working fine.
