Try rain and the rear (behind the car flying) cam, this is really funny with the Heat Haze Bug
This is a really impressive update.
Great idea. Combined with the italics they are already using for componenets that are part of a larger mod.
Overall, this is the most impressive update to rF2 to date, in my opinion. Major progress made on very important and long-standing issues and no new items broken (apparently). The proper lighting and colours means that those of us with a critical eye are not irritated every minute we are using the sim having to force ourselves to overlook the garish graphics to pay attention to the wonderful qualities of the sim. As many others have stated, it now feels "natural," or as it should, "invisible" to our senses. It's just there, looking normal and not interfering with the sensory pleasure of the speed, the feedback, the racing itself. A long time coming, but I'm just happy it seems resolved save for a few pixelation issues/weirdness.
Dont know if anyone has posted yet but when you install from update, the player.JSON file does not include new items in this build, and it could be a problem if a parameter is needed for stability and is not present. Best solution is fresh install
Thanks for the update!
Right, that's what I've done too for the same reason.
Which items do you mean in particular, so i can check my "player.JSON" file.
Seems to defeat the purpose of an "update" install. ? I am new to rFactor2 so I have not gone through a build update yet.
great update...real big step
"sim processor thresh" in particular, mate ;-)
not found un player.JSON after update!
After first start of rf2, this value should be there...
Yeah and worst case deleting .json makes more sense than fresh install at least for that reason only...
I used also autoupdate, and my player.JSON includes this variable.
Auto update worked fine for me, the new build is looking fantastic, and for me, it feels like a new tire model
Really glad to see this step forward with the graphics. Thanks for your hard work. Played for 7hrs today at Sebring and Poznan including some night racing (for the first time with rf2 due to previous issues). Amazing immersion, great skies.
Thanks for continuing to ensure rf2 runs well on medium settings with old hardware. AMD Athlon 250 x 2, GTX460 mostly 50-100 fps after race start has settled. Only env reflections is turned off, everything else medium, 4 x AA, 18 AI (an average 18 AI used, less for NSX and Vette road cars as they seem very taxing, but can have 29 AI with some mods).
What if I have it? And I'm certain I did copy my old player json from my 930-build... Am I good then?
In the past when I've done updates any new parameters have usually (perhaps not always) been created. Either way, unless you want to change the values, it shouldn't be an issue; the game won't crash because an obscure parameter is missing, it'll just use the default value as long as that makes sense.
Cool, thanks... I checked the date for 'creation' says april 3rd... I guess I didn't copy it.
The updater will not touch the json files. The JSON files don't get updated until you start the sim. After running and then closing the sim you should see all the new values.
