Its a combination of reasons. The Vette feels great already and we want to release stock cars with a race rules update at the same time. We are looking at maybe moving some of the rules to a plugin for greater flexibility. This is taking extra time. The racing Contact Patch Model takes extensive engineering. Once we get it stable, we'll look at enhancing earlier content.
Well, either I must have missed that, or have forgotten about it There is some content announced I'm more excited about then this. I don't really want streetcars personally, prefer racecars big time
" We are looking at maybe moving some of the rules to a plugin for greater flexibility." This makes perfect sense.
Just to clarify, 860 didn't auto update without an active acct, and always won't, because it's still build 860. Auto updating without an active acct should be fixed in build 880, but you need to have 880 for an update to work from 880. So the NEXT build you will be able to auto update without an active acct.
so every car need a contact patch update ? I thought was a core engine update. still many cars out there don't use the chassis flex yet...
Totally. Good move. Now look what you've done... Sounds perfectly reasonable. Thank you very much for the clarification.
Dealing with some uninitialized data in old TGMs that is now actually used. Still for AIs only ? Which data ?
Darkness at night is still broken since a few builds. Is this a known issue? This screenshot is from 1 am and it is absolutly not as dark as it should be. View attachment 14724
Tim - just tried to update using Launcher and it failed. First time ever. Here's some info from Sync Manager 0.27 " C++ & DirectX runtimes successfully installed. (All other lines ok) then "\rfactor2\Installed\Commentary\Commentary\1.0\Commentary USA.mas was NOT successful. Update procedure has detected an error and stopped." Now what? Any suggestions guys? I can still run rF2 in 860 build. I'm using an iMac running Win 7 on Bootcamp, though I don't think that's an issue.
Yes i know that this does the trick but first i don't want to because of performance and second because in some "dark areas" the color become odd and the become a kind of purple. So why is it not getting dark with HDR turned off?
Tim, I noticed a GetMod bug was fixed that a lot of people have been complaining about. Not sure how it would be described in the change log though. It's hard to even explain in a bug report. But the scenario goes like this. You have a component in your packages folder but not installed. Now you try to join a server which has that component included in the vmod so it lists this component on the "missing components" screen. Now when you click the get missing components button it will download this missing component (even though you already have it in the packages folder, although not installed) but then fails to install and then gives a misleading error about needing to check the URLs. In build 880 this is fixed. Now when the Missing components screen comes up it will list it as a missing component, but then when you click "get missing components" it will simply install the component that you already have rather than downloading it again. This is a big deal. We stopped using GetMod in our league due to this bug and the constant confusion it created. I just don't know how you could summarize this fix in the change log. Hahaha. Maybe just: + Fixed GetMod download on existing components? Anyways, very excited this is fixed.
Firstly, thanks for all the info. Secondly, you address the new contact patch with the 'racing' contact patch. Is this definition only used to make a distinction to the older contact patch, or does it imply more?
