Replied. Also, just in case.. https://www.dropbox.com/s/njgcwx3malg87oi/rFactor2.zip Same p/w as I've emailed you already.
Thanks a lot. We caught an issue we would not have seen without you, that we'll have to address next build. Nobody thinks of saving their credentials, good on you for doing so.
We might have to put out another short term release to fix that issue even though currently you are the only reported case with that specific issue. It COULD affect many others.
Glad to have been of service! I tend to reload my workstation periodically so I usually kept a copy of that folder to spare myself an activation despite being on a lifetime licence.
Is this the same corruption that hit loads of people in build 660? Same thing happened to me and I offered up the corrupted file, you must have missed it Btw used auto update and all is good so far, offline and online. Great build, real road and tyres are very interesting so far
Launcher crashing due to a corrupt credentials file occured (and reported) in B660. edit:- Doh beaten to it (and by the person who found it I believe too).
Thanks ISI! Did fresh installation and everything working fine so far (except some small graphics bug with some third-party mod). Tried 32-bit first but now I'm on 64-bit. Only one plugin of those I'm using not yet available as 64-bit (FanaLEDs). It seems making 64-bit version of plugin is piece of cake (few guys at unstable forum released their plugins in no-time after 64-bit build was available).
Thanks man! Already started to create similar bat-files by myself but stopped after finding out how ridiculous if-else structure that "language" has.
Hmm good to know. I have my credentials backed up too but didn't need to use this. I do have the occasional "rF2 Stopped Working" once I exit the game and am back on the Launcher, since b660 with reasonable frequency.
I thin kit's him giving his credentials that allowed us to see the problem. Awesome that he kept them after swapping them out.
Tim.... still needing to know the answer Hey Tim, have noticed a lot of responses to steering torque but my question seems to have fallen fall thru the cracks. Would really appreciated some info on this. Thank You.
It SHOULD copy everything, but if it fails, you can open player.bak in notepad, and player.json and check them if you don't feel something is right.
Build 770 ? I'm liking it. Better shadow performance, some more FPS, I can live without trees at Nords and lights flashing on my SLi unit for a while Thanks ISI.
I had an odd experience that does not appear to have previously related here. - Updated via the Launcher's Update tab - rFactor2 starts with Kart UI - Tried changing UI in game (CUSTOMIZE) to default, "rFactor2 stopped working" pop-up. - Restarted from Launcher with "Revert to default UI upon restart" checked - rFactor2 starts with Kart UI - 2nd try changing UI in game fails as previously - Looked for missing UIData files; nothing unusual discovered - Copied rFactor2\Core\UIData\files to ...Documents\rFactor2\Installed\UIData - Restarted from Launcher with "Revert to default UI upon restart" checked - rFactor2 starts with Kart UI again - Noted in Customize menu that both Kart UI and default UI appear to be Kart UI - Choosing "default" "rFactor2 stopped working" pop-up again - Aborted further attempts - Deleted copies of UI files from ...Documents\rFactor2\Installed\UIData - Downloaded Lite 770 (told condescending dialog in Google Chrome that I was willing to sacrifice my dignity and my computer to restore the blocked file) - Installed Lite 770 over installation - Restart immediately reverts to default UI (Yeah!) - Comparison of UI file copies in Trash and in ...\Core\UIData after Lite 770 install appear to be identical in file size & date - No clues - All's well that ends well Only non-standard UI thing I had was "rFactor 2 Minimalist UI 1.52" in the ...Documents\rFactor2\Installed\UIData folder. Neither it not the Kart UI had been activated for months before this update. rFactor2 was working fine the day before.
