If you have a 64-bit system, see if the x64 version works. I was happily surprised that it didn't have the same error with 64-bit after the 32-bit consistently failed and it gave me some race time last night. So far, I think you and I are the only ones who have reported this error.
tried it for an hour last night ( 32 bit mode ) auto updater seemed to work without problems, was stable during the test hour lighting changed a bit ? .....auto HDR seems ramped up slightly (think it looks better) sounds -I'm sure I'm noticing improvements here too (hope we continue to get some sound improvements each build ) was having some minor reflection issues on some tracks, nothing major -perhaps tracks need updating to sync with this build? sticking to 32bit until plug-ins are updated to 64 compatibility maybe improved performance when a lot of cars in view but can not be sure without a methodical benchmark thanks for the updates ( sooooo looking forward to tire contact patch etc updates )
This is from b770, fresh install only maintaining the Settings folder. I noticed now I cannot select between most car skins I have after the update. Usually it'll only show one custom skin despite there being 3 or 4 that worked before. Only in one instance I can browse through two different custom skins and is with one of the Indycars. Does anybody experience the same or know how to solve this?
I create two batch files to swap between 32 and 64 bits versions. copy files to your rfactor2 folder Edit files with notepad and change the line in both files: Code: set rFactor2Folder= "D:\rFactor2" Set your rFactor2 path For first time your rFactor2.exe must be 32bits version and run "Run_64version.bat" to create the backup files of 32 bits version. "Run_32version.bat" to set 32Bits mode "Run_64version.bat" to set 64bits mode View attachment 13418
Just in case this is important for ISI Dev: After installing Lite B770 on top of B660 I had this BMP window error at starting. I didn't get a chance to test any unstable after B660 so it was a clean B660 install. Now all is OK after uninstalling all and installing Lite B770.
Same problem for me (Windows 7 64 bits). I tried to install a new version Lite after uninstalling the core thru the uninstaller and I still get the same error. I get this error with both versions, 32 and 64 bits. But the mods I have tested work fine. I feel shaders ave changed slightly for better, and I don't know if it is objective, but on the Nurburing (Ring Tourist) I found the Darche much easier to control. Solved following the advice from mavericckk.http://isiforums.net/f/showthread.php/20636-Error-launching-rfactor2-770
After starting auto update: - all files are downloaded - install starts - but than this: View attachment 13420 View attachment 13421 Any ideas? It is the first time that i got trouble while updating.
Hey guys, FYI, I did a clean install and ported over my packages folder contents and was up and running very quickly.... YAY... No problems as of yet. Quick question, does the auto-update merge the contents of your old player.ini & multiplayer.ini contents into the new json formatted files or is it just default settings? I belong to a club that is heavily into league events but half of our members are somewhat technology limited. Just looking to see what's ahead for those choosing to use the auto-updater. Thanks.
I`ve noticed something similar. I have several custom skins for the URD mod and all show up no problem apart from the Venom skins I`ve done... they just will not show up. Makes finishing the skins pretty hard.
Tried it again today, didn't change anything (not even rebooted the pc) but immediately worked this time. Weird, but I'm not complaining .
This thread was hidden good I have no idea how to set steering torque minimum in the new build. It stated "0," as default and I typed "0,02"... that lead rf2 now working anymore (first I though it was some other reason and did fresh install because of that :/ ) so, before we entered 0.02000 if we wanted 2% of steering torque minimum, what about now? Otherwise I have tested 64bit a little but not enough to state anything useful...seem to be working fine, maybe a little faster but nothing major (maybe I have too much content installed )
It will have tried to copy your player file, which used , instead of . then for a decimal? It would be 0.02, not 0,02 you need.
Not quite sure I understand what you are saying... in the new JSON controller file it looks like this: "Steering torque minimum":0, "Steering torque minimum#":"Minimum torque to apply in either direction to overcome steering wheel's 'FFB deadzone' caused by friction", So how to I type 2% of steering torque minimum here?
No, you need proper syntax in that file. "Steering torque minimum":"0.02", Your comma, which is incorrect, ended the line.
