Yep, random error. E.g. copying an huge file and it start to do it very quickly like usually (probably buffering), then stop, and Windows say the drive is no more available. I display all my drives and the drive still be there, so it mean it should have been disconnected for a very short time, enough to cancel my copy. When reading huge file no problem at all and it goes as quick as USB 3.0 can go. My back USB 3.0 don't have this problem. It happen if I connect my 3.0 USB Key (Corsair Voyager) or even an USB 2.0 key, but less often in that last case.

What type is fron USB3.0 connector? I don't know. It's a large black cable which go from MOBO to those 2 connectors...My guess is something is wrong with this cable, and have e.g. parasites, not enough large, etc.

The case is a cheap one: PC Antec "Three Hundrer Two", but IMO it's not that important as the cable going from the MOBO to those 2 USB front 3.0 USB port will be the same whatever case it is no? (I may have wrong, I'm a dev but not a desktop specialist) ;)

    Yeah your board has 3x USB2 and 1 x USB3 connectors not 2

Afaik Antec300 did not have front USB3.0 it has 2 x USB2.0 using standard connectors

Cases can have 1. USB pass through lead to rear USB ( as you described correctly ) ;)
    2. Single wires for every pin ( only with cheap cases usually )
    3. More common on later cases is a proper 20pin USB3.0
    [IMG]

As I said you have that connector on your motherboard you just need a case to use it. , the USB3.0 it is on the rear edge of your motherboard not side where USB2.0 are ( check your manual or d/l it online )

I just want to update on the lost controller issue I was having. It's NOT happening anymore! :)

I don't know what changed but it seemed out of no where it just decided to stop. It was happening even after updating to latest build 342. I didn't change a thing as far as I know so unfortunately I can't say what the issue was. However, it's fixed so I can care less.

How often do you restart your system?

My machine gets shut down every night and restart only when needed or prompted. What seemed strange to me is it seemed to fix itself during build 342 at some point. Maybe it was a nicely timed windows update or something. I wonder if I could've dragged over an old controller.config which brought the problem to the new build? I tend to save that file to prevent having to set up my wheel all the time. Not 100% but I am glad it's fixed.

Question. Does the "Verify" feature replace missing or corrupted files automatically or only notify you of an issue? I did run that after updating at some point.

    Auto Update fail...

After it downloaded everything I got the "syncmanager.exe is not a valid win32 application". Is the answer to download and reinstall? I don't have the motivation to do that. Not when PCars and NetKar work everytime when I hit their button...

Yes. The lite installer straight over the top would be that answer, unless you have a virus or some other issue that has affected how your system treats executables like the exe mentioned.

Virus, or Antivirus can do this sometimes (cf. post #99).

This build was supposed to record tire compounds in the results file. Is that automatic or does the mod need to be configured differently for that to happen?

I host a server with FVR's V8 Supercar mod and there is no tire compound information that I can see in the results file for practice sessions. I'll check a race results file after our race tonight...

Have those practice sessions run right through to completion? Do you have lap summaries for each driver at the end of the XML? I find that if a practice session doesn't actually finish (people leave before time is up) none of the drivers or their laptimes are shown in the summary.

If the summaries are showing after a completed practice session or in a race session (as they should for you after your race) you should find the fcompound and rcompound tags in your laptime lists. I haven't looked at XMLs from that specific mod but a custom mod we use has had no modifications to make the compounds work, and they do.

These are always partial practice sessions. We leave a practice server up 24/7 with session length set to max and drivers come in and out during the week. rF2 seems to properly close the file after the last driver exits the session. I am seeing individual lap times being recorded (along with collisions and chat) and my assumption was that tire compound data would be saved in each of those laptime lines because every lap has the potential to be run on different tires.

I will check the end of the file for a summary.

    Yeah.... na... :)

Probably the issue here is the summary data not being included for unfinished sessions, despite having Disconnected Results="1" in the PLR. Hmm... wonder if that's been reported? lol

OK, I got it now, thanks. :) We ran some races and the XML is closed out with lap data including tire compound.

Hey guys, I found a bug on this new build, dont know if someone have this...

If its raining with spray going on, and you are on track, cockpit vision, if you just go slowly and look behind, the fps here drop like to 60 stable, to 20-30, and the slower I go more the fps drops... I thinks its related to the rain spray...]

    Can someone test this?

This is a known bug. Fps seems to be affected when in smoke and rain.

    :)

tjc only with certain settings. For me there's no fps loss when in smoke. Rain is a different story but that's expected.

Ahh, right Ronnie... I`ve pretty much always had a fps drop when in smoke.

I`ve not actually tried the rain much this last while so not so sure about that.

I believe it has sth to do with some changes made to the nvidia control panel to achieve better performance or looks. Texture filtering or antialiasing... But I made no changes to mine and even with high settings I didn't have any sudden fps drops while in smoke. Just the usual fps jumps from for example 60-90, no matter if in smoke or not. Rain however always hit my fps. However not more than it ever used to. :)

Maybe reset your nvidia settings and try again. :)

Like tjc, I had solid 80 fps in ISI Historic server, that is, until the first several turns at Brianza. I think on turn 3 in all the smoke from tires my frames dropped to 20. Really made it an exciting corner as it got quite choppy in a crowd of cars.
