Hi everyone,

We have released rFactor 2 Build 298.

There's been some comments about improved framerates from testers, hopefully that experience carries over to you!

We've also started to implement a new constraint system (which is used in the upcoming historic Howston cars), that allows many new physics features, such as chassis flex. Most importantly, this system allows suspension geometry and wheel rates to be more accurate than the old model was able to simulate. This system adds complexity and accuracy, but has already been optimized, with no notable additional CPU usage. Of course older cars will be updated in the future, and new cars will use the new system going forward. Fortunately, it's quite easy to convert... Documentation will follow.

This includes a new demo version, and new general installers (lite, content).

Auto update should replace the temporary launcher (if you used it). Make sure it has.

NOTE: Any mod which has a description field over 3000 chars may cause rF2 to fail to launch. The fix right now is to remove them (uninstall and remove from packages). This will be fixed in a future build, in the meantime we ask modders to limit that box to 3000 until we're doing it for you.

I have downloaded the 298 and now, when i start rfactor2 i got this message : rfactor 2 has stop working...
 
Tim have you checked the Jeremy tweets thread? There are some issues with auto updater or something? I haven't updated yet, that's why I am asking. I have the content build also. What do you advise? Thanks...

Max, you need to stop asking so many questions. You're effectively flooding threads with questions about things already answered. Read the first post.
 
just did autoupdate but game wont start, get the launcher, but can't access single player or online. it did say it was build 298

Did you install it, or just download it? Did the download complete? Was rF2 running when you installed? How did you install (fresh, over the top)? Which installer?

I clicked a button called "update", didn't know it actually ment "break it and download it from somewhere else" :)
So how should we install this one to make it work?

I like the changelog, great to see some improvements

Ive updated via the launcher and singleplayer and multiplayer do not launch, so i uninstalled the core and downloaded the lite version in downloads and i have the same trouble, using the new launcher here.
