That's over a ton of a racing monster landing after a jump.

I once drove into a hole at 40 km/h and it was enough to bend my rim. I guess it says something about how much tire can deform in real life on impact.

Slow motion can also reveal more deformations that we are able to see at normal speed:



I bet most of people seeing this kind of deformation in a computer simulation would question it's accuracy :) I try not to judge. It takes more knowledge to make proper judgement, than most people think.

That is totally jaw dropping!

I`m a drummer myself and would never have thought it would be possible for such an amount of deformation without damage.

I can`t believe what I`ve been doing to my poor cymbals all these years :p

The skins too deform a lot more than I`d have thought but at least they get replaced every now and then, I`ve had my cymbals for years.

Interesting cymbal/drum video. Now we just need one for similar car tire under similar circumstances to compare to rF2.

I've only posted a video to show how much exaggerated things may look in slow motion, comparing to what we expect.

It's a good reply and yes i agree it puts things into perspective when put like that. Still i have always found rF2 to look retarded with the tyre deformation and that one shot just looked really funny, i'm not a fan of it. But you're right, slowing stuff down does indeed make it seem more excessive than maybe they actually are in real time.
