    Hi,

    Looks great

The question is: what is the real effect on the track , when it's wet, little raining or hard raining

    ;)

I'm wondering how the rain effect will work from the modding point of view. I mean, will it be different texture files (.dds) using a cycle or event animation as we use now in rF1 to create the windshield's build up dirt effect?

What about the wiper animation? will it be a 3DS Max animation or you will just need to define the .gmt object and the movement parameters?

    Best regards

The Rain effect is Brilliant !!! The best ever seen
Hopefully will the car's "Spray" be as good as the rain.

And what about (morning) fog smoke and dust. Are these taken into notice? You developpers always seems to forget these
I think the dust thrown up by cars when driving trough grind would have to stay longer in the air on track.

remember the movie "days of thunder"... the suspense of driving to blinding dust or smoke.... would be awesome

I think it's still too early Rantam. I can imagine how desperate you modding guys are awaiting further info on how to implement features just like the wiper animations, but we shoudn't forget they're still in a testing status. It would cause only more trouble if they'd let all modding groups know how the current test was created and what would be needed, only to let the modders know they changed the system completely a couple of weeks after.

It's a tough time for modders who want to create their mods for rFactor 2, but I think it won't take another couple of years until we get to see the full feature list and how-tos. :)

Is it a real working effect, or just photoshopped ?

These kind of artifacts are typical for shaders. Especially shaders that are still under development :)

Hi guys, rain effects are looking great.

As a point of interest, I have always used a windshield additive on my track cars, and helmet visors for that matter (simoniz being one of my favourite products for this), which provide a beading effect to keep the windshield/visors clear. Just a thought re: rain effect possibilities.

    Keep up the great work!!!

Originally there was a banner across the top of the windscreen, I think the edge of the windscreen isn't properly set yet.

You'll see a video soon enough, and it would be pretty hard to photoshop a video. :)

Don't worry Tim, 99% of us are clever enough to know you aren't going to be photoshopping stuff!

After all, you are ISI, not Codemasters...

    Muahaha.

I seriously can not wait for rF2.

It's a real effect. Until we sort out some technical issue the geometry with the rain on it has to sit inside the cockpit. Once it's fixed it will be moved outside where it belongs and you won't see that...

    Hi guys,

I think the effect looks great so far. Is something along the lines of the rain effect newly displayed in a Gran Turismo 5 clip feasible in the new engine (ie taking car speed, orientation and side winds/turbulence/spray into consideration) ?

    Thanks!
