Does ISI still have servers for rfactor 1? I just installed on my new PC and when I try to find servers, it says matchmaker is down. Is that permanent? Or temporary?
In the web of rFactor (https://www.rfactor.net/) says Code: - Is the rFactor ISI matchmaker down? rFactor is now Steam-only. Server listings are available in the Steam client. Hosts need to be using the Steam version for it to show there. IP direct connection is always available, and most leagues use that.
Good morning to the forum, I publish this topic here because I have not found information on the internet and I would like to see if someone here with knowledge can help me. As some of you may know, the rfactor matchmaker stopped working a long time ago, I have VPS available to set up a server and I would like to know if it is possible for this VPS to host a matchmaker for rfactor rfactor
As it is written in the Post of @lagg : "IP direct connection is always available", so yes, it should be possible.
Who owns rf1 ? ISI still or MSG, either way it would be nice to see some developer take on rf1 and do a lot more to it, would still have good potential.
I'm not sure how hard it would be to create a matchmaker. Maybe someone understands what that would involve, I have very vague memories of an alternative matchmaker at some point but I don't recall any details.
There I got the information and they are not providing service that is why it is down, what I want is to do the same and offer it for free but I don't know how
Due to a Request of a User, i've made a rF1 Server List, that is online now. BUT due to the Fact, that there is no "Matchmaker" anymore, it displays only the Servers, that are opened with the Steam Command dedicated Server for rF1, that can be downloaded from here: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=402120634. This Steam Command dedicated Server can be used from everybody, independent if he has Steam installed or not! So if you want to have your Server(s) being shown on that List, use the Steam Command dedicated Server. My Site also "explains" how you can join a rF1 Server, when you don't have the Steam rFactor Version installed. The ones that have Steam and also the Steam rFactor Version installed, only have to be running the Steam Client and click a Button on the Site, to join. It can be found here: https://simracepackages.lima-city.de/rF1server/ You may ask "why a new Server List, when i have one in the Steam Client already?". The Answer is: if you have Steam installed, but don't have the Steam Version of rFactor, the rFactor Servers can not be selected in the Server Selection of Steam (which is totally idiotic BTW). You can only select Servers from Games that you own/have installed. So all People, that only have the DVD or the downloaded Version of rFactor installed, can not see a Server List with the rF1 Steam Servers, even if they have Steam installed. But they can on my List. To make it grow, please use the Steam Command dedicated Server, if you have Servers running.
