rF2 Wishlist - Various Sources

Let me add piracy is also to steal materials from a game and port them to rF or rF2 without permission of the owners (especially if the owners are members of the community who offered a huge contribution to the ISI sims).

ohhh.. BURN!

He just did this to the dreams that are your floor...

I am wondering if we can have way so that the controls page shows what control file is in use. It would be nice if it would show what Preset "is" loaded in addition to what presets are available to load?

Finally! Grass textures with bump mapping:

It can be done and I wish it, for rF2. :o

P.S. Spot the reflected green light on the underside of the bridge.

Bumpmaps and displacement maps are not the way to go in my opinion.
Grass is not a "bumpy surface", because it's not a surface at all. The ground underneath is.

I'd rather go for actual 3D grass like I did with Zolder:

Note how grass color saturation changes when you look against sunlight.

Of course this grass should not be so tall, but because rFactor doesn't support such stuff natively I ran into technical difficulties. Performance cost is minimal - like 5% or so.

Performance was my concern about that many sprites. Can we get all our tracks kitted out in your 3D grass then? :p

Anyway as long ISI try something to make the grass look a little more full bodied than it is in rF1.

I do admire the way iRacing's grass looks 3D near the verges, GT5 has nice grass too, but then what ACR has done I haven't seen in a sim before, even though we've had plenty of similar shaders in most FPS games for ages.

Additional I wish that any ingame switch would be defined as momentary or bi-stable one. It will allow to use keyboard (momentary) or bi-stable external hardware buttons to enable/disable things (for example lights, ignition etc)

I would love to see this as well. Hardcore simulators could then be 100% realistic

How about an option to select race length instead of laps! I prefer 30 to 50 mile sprints. You round up or down whichever is closer!

The ability to copy and paste text into the chat and clickable links that launch a web browser. Also to be able to turn on/off the chat box at any time while on track, to see what you missed while trying to drive, lol.

So I just noticed one of the features I wanted in rF2 is in iRacing, and they made a nice video too.

Ghost racing for spectators is infinitely better than a hundred locked servers you can't join and have no idea will end.

Would the cars be able to lift the rear wheel while braking in rF2? Like this:

*I searched through the forum and didn't find anything about this.

That does occur in rF1.. You just have to find a car set up to do so. Which may or may not be the car you would suspect.

This is not a "feature"... that occurs when you have relatively soft springs with stiff anti-roll bars. So that strongly depends on car. Do it right and you can have that in rF 1.

Automated Camera Cycle

Our League is running some live streams of our races . The Problem is I can't change camera's to different drivers or different angles while I'm racing and Don't have any friends that bored. Is there any software to cycle through Random top 5 drivers and angles. If not would this function be in rf2?
