rf2 steam demo fails to start

Hi folks,

reporting this for a friend who has a problem running the demo (he tried re-installing multiple times). When he tries to launch rF Config.exe, he sees the following error:



Any idea what's causing this? Here's his bin32 directory listing...

I don't know if it's in the demo, but he could try to install the directx that comes with rfactor 2.
In the full version it is in the folder
..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Support\DirectX

BTW you have posted the screenshot of his bin32 folder.
Is he running the game in 32 bit?
If yes, what happens if he runs it in 64 bit?
