Can't wait for the update! What's that stray black line on the left rear of the second image?

In answer, I can said one french proverb "Tout vient à point à qui sait attendre" .I can traduce it with something like this, but perhaps with less sense, "All things come to him who waits "

I really dislike the extreme, obnoxious lens flare in most modern games. I hope ISI sticks with its current system for rF2.

Here I would like to argue. While most games might be making the lens flare a little too extreme, it is actually something that helps to create a realistic feel, when done right. Remember, you get blinded in real life when you look at the sun when it is low on the horizon. Even your eyes create some kind of lens flare, when you look at the sun or directly at headlights during night.

The rest though is just stunning, by far the best looking racer out there. Check the Silverstone screens out that were released, it is photo realistic, most impressive screens i have seen, had to look twice on some shots. Those alps shots though are basically photos aswell. Lighting is stupidly good..

While it seems PC sims have caught up with last gen visuals. Forza i think is really showing what the next gen is going to offer. I can see the big leap in visual fidelity between PC and consoles happening again already and this is the first go on the new hardware. Imagine what they will get when they actually get to grips with the next gen hardware.

Forza looks stunning. Really on another level to anything else out there.

I'm a driving physics man first and foremost but I want to see PC sims stepping up to this level. pCARS is leading the way, Assetto Corsa looks pretty but I'm sorry to say rF2 is lagging behind. I hope graphical improvements and optimisations are in there somewhere.

In terms of graphics and lighting, I think that PD are the best! Look at these gifs and considering that they are from the old gen PS3 are really stunning!

I agree with this, GT tends to not have too many of those really fake looking special effects that are in games like Forza. They aim more for photorealism than trying to force a sense of speed on the player with arcady means, and I appreciate that a lot. Also, their attention to detail (and accuracy) of the tracks is really impressive.
But, they have nothing on RF2 in terms of physics of course :p
