My first try with the Tilt-Shift-effect

Why does this pic make the car and track look like they are tiny little micro machine toys (especially when blown up to full screen)? Is it the extreme and sudden DOF/blurring on both sides? Im very curious as to why this pic gives my brain the optical illusion of micro machines??.. Its a great pic by the way, dont get me wrong
