Mother of god the color saturation.

Please ISI. All my sim racing friends just make fun of the colors and I can't defend it anymore.

 

Show yer mates some of the screenshots from the last few pages then.

 

I did.. Those are the ones they laugh at.. That F1 Rik posted is a prime example.. It isn't rik's fault or the terrible compression. rF2 has some severe color palette issues that need to be sussed out either with opened settings or HDR profiles or something. Grass is green but the wrong green, reds are blown out or look pink they are so saturated and the proponent orange barrier walls look terrible.

Lighting is everything and something about almost all the screenshots is just off.

 

Agree, rf2 graphic is just old-gen , but fortunately physics and ffb are the best so far!

Atm the colours do need work, the graphics too although the last updates are definitely showing big improvements in this area imo.

It`ll all come together though.

Zeos... just say to your friends to have a look at rf2 in a few weeks/months time. You think they`ll be laughing as much then?

Can't disagree with you that Riks screenies are a bit grim (sorry Rik!) but Tosch's post where he was showing screenies from the developers mode show the potential of much improved graphics for this sim.

well you did pick the most worst mod Rfactor2 has to offer, I can understand that your friends had a good laugh. If I compare the coca cola sign (I assume it's from an other game?), it doesn't impress me more than the screens that are made on the ISI tracks. Sure Rfactor2 need some improvement, but it's getting there like TJC said.

 

HDR shouldn't influence a texture tonality, it is light processing, instead of color... How many artists have to adjust color of texture to normal work of HDR? You consider it correct?
My opinion, colors correction has to be on textures maximum to approach to real shades of life. And to emphasize with HDR intensity of light of an environment. Shouldn't influence color of a surface. Only to tint it or to lighten very delicately.

 

Well Zeos, it´s also a matter of personal taste.
The Coca cola sign is FOR ME oversaturated!
I for one like it more "washed out".

So please keep this in mind!

P.s.: your friends and some other people maybe find GT5 superior.? I find it crap...

I would certainly hope your track doesn't look like that when you are racing on it Zeos. That looks horrible and nothing like what mine does in single player mode.

 

It's funny I never thought I had time to look at nice graphics because I was concentrating on driving and way too focused to be looking around but I have been catching myself lately checking out the beauty of the cars and skins around me and indeed has been distracting me. Please don't make anything any prettier or I will need to make ugly versions of mods so I can still drive

 

It does.. And those type of colors appear on all tracks including ISI's just less of them around. This is an old Nordschleife track I got somewhere.

 

You've done a superb job in making rF2 look sh*t with that piccy of Nordschliefe mind!
