As I said this is an old feature from rF1. I don't think either ISI or S397 uses the prefix for kerbs any more. @Tuttle ?

From many years since now 3d surfaces using one of the available road material are used to model kerbs. If different material to the main track one is used is basically to assign different grip values since they are typically painted and should be avoided in rain for example.

So as a summary and as I already said, in most tracks the parameter will have no effect.

I'm actually in complete agreement. If I had some sort of motion rig (even just a seat that gave some feedback with subtle movements) I would consider it more representative of real life than only having 'real' steering wheel feedback and missing everything else you'd get in real life. And I wouldn't mind the option to have this sort of feedback applied to the steering wheel FFB (as an option!), because although it would no longer represent real wheel feedback it would help to drive the car. And it's only half canned, because it's not where it's supposed to be but it's based on real forces. And it's still not as good (useful, beneficial) as seat movement feedback, because the more you add to the wheel the muddier the separate effects become...

@SPASKIS I did my kerb test at Silverstone. It's one of the most current tracks, surely?

I haven't tested recently but the rumble strip parameter in the controller.json used to work last year.
And the effect is very simple and very different from the results you get from the FFB when going over the same kerbs.
You can of course disable/filter the FFB and still have the rumble strip effect.
Oh, and as mentioned everywhere it is disabled by default in the game files.

The difference to AC when it comes to this particular effect is that AC doesn't discriminate flat kerbs.

I was mistaken. Some official tracks are still using RMBL materials for kerbs. Others are using PCRB which I am not sure but propbably is subject to affect FFB as well if the canned effect setting is activated. In my latest track (Gotham Hills) I didnt' use it any more. While I did use it in other tracks of mine. My memory failed a bit this time. I rectify and therefore rumble effects are presenrt in RF2 if activated in controller.json.
