    Hi all,

Last night on the Discord chat I mentioned a project I have that seemed to get a lot of attention so thought it might be of interest to others too.

Basically famous car design and BAR F1 former team owner Adrian Reynard designed and built a little bike engined car a few years ago called the Inverter. The aim of the Inverter was to beat Radicals in UK racing championships and he wanted it to create enough downforce to run upside in a tunnel (theoretically).

Adrian is a massive supporter of engineering and likes to promote it as a career to young people. He's made the designs for the car (all 3D CAD data etc) available Open Source under the creative commons licence. I've been charged with promoting this concept and providing support to builders in terms of providing parts and information that they can't or don't want to make/source.

I've been researching this old modding lark for a few months and had some success in taking mods that exist and playing/learning about the physics behind them, and although I'm an ex-F1 design engineer I didn't feel I wanted to get into making mods from scratch with new bodywork etc. It nows occurs to me however that the Inverter and it's open source nature could be a very interesting project to make a mod from as all the 3D data exists already and it would help promote the car and for students the learning of simulation and car performance physics.

If anyone is interested in taking a look at the CAD data etc for the car then if you can send me an email confirming you agree to be bound by the creative commons licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/legalcode) to info@inverterossportscar.com I can add you to the shared DropBox folder. I'll add my rfactor resources to that DropBox folder too and anyone who wants to help you would be doing me a massive favour as I'm going to struggle I think.....
