Hi there, I would like to present a rework of our Live Timing tool for rFactor2. http://ftgx.dyndns.org/vmliveview2/ The whole system is based on PHP, Apache and MySQL. The major focus will be for Endurance Racing Mods, but Series Racing won't be a problem as well. The programming is pretty much straight forward, so League Admins with a little knowledge in APM-Environments won't have a problem to customize it for their needs. Components: - Plugin to store the current scoring in an XML file - Loader to grep the data and place it into the db - Monitor to show the overall standings - Viewer adjustable Refresh Rate - Row Highlight ( see column High ) to compare Team Driver to opponent - Hotlap list ( [Hotlaps] link in Extras ) - Session Laps list ( click on a lap number link in column Laps ) - Marquee ( http://ftgx.dyndns.org/vmliveview2/marquee.php ) Minor problems detected so far: - Under the "rFactor2 Mod Mode.exe" sometimes the "InPits" status isn't updated correctly. Haven't detected it so far for "rFactor2.exe". Can't tell for the "rFactor2 Dedicated.exe" cause I have to wait until the scoring updates for AI has been fixed for the next release of rF2 beta. - "DarkClouds" and "Wind" updating doesn't seem to work at all. Are those data linked to telemetry outputs? Keep in mind that this instance is currently running on my dev system. So the upload line is rather poor and the system is not available 24/7 in case the links are not working. Cheers Frank
How did you manage to run with UpdateScoring? There is confirmed bug with dedicated server (there is no problem while running plugin with game) BTW: -Wind is disabled in current version of rf2.
@Mauro: Thanx and not yet. The rework isn't completely finished. As soon it is, I will present one. @MaXyM: So far I use what I have available. I took the vehicles from the Megane Throphy package and integrated them into the "ModDev" for development. This way I don't have to run the "rFactor.exe" which uses much more resources than the "rFactor2 Mod Mode.exe". On the other hand, using "rFactor2 Dedicated.exe" with AIs, just connect a real driver to the dedicated server and the scoring data will be written to the files. But still, my dev system isn't powerful enough to run both, the "rFactor2 Dedicated.exe" and "rFactor.exe" to produce the scoring output under the "rFactor2 Dedicated.exe". Hope that helps. Cheers Frank
Yep, but as far as I know, those files are saved only at the end of session (or session/track change). No live updated data are available from stock rf2. That's why we are using plugins generating files with some defined period. Unfortunately due to the bug dedicated server doesn't provide results. So we are waiting for fix. Any way thanx for answer
Thanx for the update MaXyM, cause I haven't checked it in details. I'm going to cross-check this on my dev sys with one AI and one Real Player on stock rF2 DS later. But yeah ... I am realy waiting for this fix too.
@Dany & Hoschi: Thanx for the flowers UPDATE INFOS: Right now I am in the process of matching the old and the new plugin to work with just one live timing front end: rF1: http://vxracing.de/vmliveview/monitor.php rF2: http://ftgx.dyndns.org/vmliveview2/monitor.php I guess, when the ISI guys are ready to release the rF2 DS beta updates, after a short revision I am able to provide a download link for the plugins/tool. I'll keep you updated. Cheers Frank
OK, I think I am done so far for the matching process. What I am gonna do right now, is an endurance test for approx. 1 - 2 weeks continuous timing with rF1, cause rF2 DS does not currently processes the UpdateScoring function yet. You can follow the endurance test under the following URLs: Monitor: http://vxracing.de/vmliveview/monitor.php Marquee: http://vxracing.de/vmliveview/marquee.php Server Status: http://vxracing.de/vmliveview/status.php Also keep in mind that there is a [Hotlap]-Link within the "Extras"-Info field and a "Lap"-Link within the column "Laps". Any constructive critic is always welcome. Cheers Frank
Frank I am very excited to see this, it will be a HUGE addition to our new website www.touringproseries.com We are planning to migrate all our 6 leagues to rF2, and this will make the live broadcasts much more exciting! I abolsutely LOVE the Marquee! Where is the download link for rF1? I would love to give it a try if its available. Could you email me? keithstrailers at gmail.com Or if possible add me on Skype if you have: Keith Barrick Would love to chat with you more. Keith Barrick Admin - www.touringproseries.com
Hi Keith, first off all, thank you very much for your liking of our tool. So far there is no download available for the rF1 instance of it, because it is a complete rework of our rF1 tool "VMHotlaps" additionally mapped to rF2, which never had made it out of the lab. But, as soon as the current endurance tests has been "completed successfully", I am gonna provide a download link for a release candidate of the current one, regardless of the status of the awaiting rF2 beta update(s) for testing. But if you wanna get some more details about "VM LiveView Lite", I suggest we meet in our TS if you like. Send me a PM and I'll provide you with the access credentials for our TeamSpeak3 server. Cheers Frank
First "out of lab" real time test: http://ftgx.dyndns.org/vmliveview2/monitor.php The Plugin and the Loader runs on a system in England. The database still runs on my dev system in Germany. Due to the very poor upload rates on both sides, the minimum refresh rate had to be raised to 3 seconds. Thanx Dany and Paul. Cheers Frank
