As per the thread title it does'nt load correctly (all tracks I've tried with), some areas have Real Road all Blotchy/Patchy whilst other areas are missing it entirely.

The real road state loads over time when watching a replay (the entire track doesn't get refreshed in one go, presumably because that would increase the replay file size / online traffic). Does it become patchy when resuming even after watching long enough for the whole real road to load?

yeah I did notice it "came back" rather quickly, maybe it's just not visually loading properly at the start but is actually "there" so to speak. Either way it's a bug and needs addressing at somepoint, although probably when Real Road becomes normalised and not accelerated as it is, either way it's a Bug and should go on the The List :)

No, it's not a bug; if the game stored the realroad state of the entire track every frame (or even once a second) the replay file would become huge. It updates a part of the track at a time, so over a number of seconds the entire track will be updated.

It's like tyre compounds in a replay. You can't jump to a point in the race and assume the tyres you're seeing are correct, because the game doesn't store the current compound for every car at each frame. Tyres don't change very often (logically) so the game only stores the current one when it changes (pitstop) or at fairly lengthy intervals (30 seconds? a minute?). You can be watching a car and then suddenly the tyre compound changes, because it's reached a tyre compound update for that car.

If you can watch the replay for a minute or so, and the whole track's realroad is updated, then you resume and it's patchy again, that's a bug. If you load up a replay, jump to a point of the race, and resume, there hasn't been time for the realroad to update around the whole track.

Well ok let's say it's an area that needs improvement then, as currently having patchy spots of real road seemingly working and other areas not is kind of off putting.
Again hopefully when it becomes unaccelerated ISI can look into this and make it work better, Resume From Replay is a fantastic feature and anything make it better would be awesome.

just as an FYI from the Devcorner item:
"RealRoad and weather are restored, but at the moment weather won’t change after the resume, although RealRoad will continue to develop."

So just as I thought, Real Road needs to progress before the Patchy issue is addressed (unless it can be tweaked beforehand) but it should get restored proerply eventually.

Probably the wrong place to ask but does it matter which level of Replay Fidelity is used best with Resume From Replay Terence?

What I normally do is load a replay, let it run a few laps before I want to join, then rejoin once RR looks ok.

Technically RFR works with any fidelity.

that can work but does'nt help when you Resume from the start of a race.

Of course, but then you could perhaps just restart the race rather than use the replay?

Yes another workaround but regardless it would be handy if it worked first time in the future!

Be nice if you could select a RR preset to load with really...

off topic a little but also to do with replays, if you rewind back to a time that was dry(no rain) once it has started raining. the rain is there when the session was meant to be dry at that time..

is this known, or do others get this..
