In the new Porsche Cup car there are those plain rF2 skins, can i just straight up remove them from the game? I made a custom rfc (or whatever there called) but I always have to load that up to get rid of those skins but then I loose ability to add any car or track, just removing those skins would be great.

I don't know of a way to eliminate those cars or the Mclaren Shadow 650S cars etc. You CAN remove them at the start of a track session by clicking on the small right arrow at the bottom of the main screen next to the BOOT/Add op[tions. You boot the cars you don't want and then add back ones you do. An alternate method is to start with zero AI cars and then just add cars one by one that you want.

Yeah thanks Dave, that's what I was doing until I found the way to do custom grids (not ideal) but now I was just wondering about other options that I may not know of.

You could make your own update of the car, selecting only the cars that you want.
I don't understand what you you say about adding cars or tracks

I use this method to add tracks and cars https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554544322 but when i get a new car or track i haven't figured out how to edit it , so i need to make new ones , if i could just remove the pain rF2 skins id be set and not really need to use this method .
Hopefully new new Ui will be soon and give us the option to make full custom grid and championships !

    It's possible, but not easy.
    1. Extract the content of ...\rFactor 2\Installed\Vehicles\Porsche_Cup_GT3_2018\1.05\car-upgrade.mas with MAS2.exe
    2. Delete the files:
      • 1_porsche_51233dc2.veh
      • 2_porsche_e1879225.veh
      • 3_porsche_eafb5338.veh
      • 4_porsche_f8d827e2.veh
      • 5_porsche_3b233918.veh
      • 6_porsche_b7c5fe21.veh
    3. Edit the rest of the veh files and change the line Classes in this way (for example) Classes="MyGT3Cup, GT3Cup, GT3_Porsche_911_GT3_Cup"
    4. Save all the veh files and create a mas file with the content.
    5. Create a Single Cmp Package with MAS2.exe
    6. Call the component in the exact same name as the Porsche: Porsche_Cup_GT3_2018
    7. Put your name file
    8. Put the number of your Version (for example 1.06)
    9. Select the checkbox Update From and write 1.04.
    10. Type: Vehicle
    11. Add your mas file to the list.
    12. Package, Done anf Install.
You'll have a new filter called MyGT3Cup with the cars with the skins that you want

And will that work past the next version update? Just curious.

Depends on the type of update.
If the update only includes more liveries and the car itself is mantained in the 1.04 version this should work.
If they update the car would be necessary to repeat only from the step 5, changing the step 8 with your new number and the 9 with the Update from of the new version.

Thanks lagg, I may just stick with the way I posted earlier. I appreciate your time here but it's just all too hard. Hopefully the new Ui will make these type of things just simply pick skins we want and go.

    Yes, i know.
    Nowadays it's too difficult.
That's why i wrote "It's possible, but not easy."
We'll see if there is a better solution in the new UI.

i think its easier to build and start a diy rocket and reach the mars than handle skins in RF2... oh my why is every bit in rFactor 2 so exhausting... mirror setup like 1900, skin handling is rocket sience...
