Quick question, when you say in step 1 to copy out rfmod files, should that be rfcmp files?
back from work i wanted to run the game and what do i see, a 10 giga download in progress, in one file !!! ???
it makes no sense.
I have CTD every day.
I am disappointed, I don't know what to do anymore.
If the CTD happens, you may be corrupting some of the .json files that get re-written upon a proper exit. I have no idea why you have a 10GB download unless the file that memorizes your installed content was also corrupted. Give us your system specs, we've seen several older systems lately having issues with the latest update. If we find the cause of the ctd, we'll also prevent the large downloads etc. If you don't already have the trace file enabled, please do so and attach the trace file from your next loading attempt.
yup, apologies, ill correct it in original post.
after having downloaded the 10 Go, today I have a download of 16 Go lol.
amd ryzen 3600x
B450 gaming plus max
16 Go ddr4
GTX 1660 super
samsung ssd 970 evo plus
windows 10 pro
Your gear looks great, I might think about a more powerful power supply at some point. I try for a minimum of 850 watts, but if it was all working correctly before, then that is not a crucial thing to worry about.
There looks to be a problem with the Super Trofeo Hurracan mod, at least some of the skins are not loading. And Sebring is a complete mess. Try removing both of those.
Hopefully @Lazza or @redapg can take a peek at your trace file. I'd trust their advice over mine!!!!
here are two suggestions from another thread:
Go to this location and run all 4 runtime programs.
With your rF2 closed, go into your steam installation : xx:\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Installed\rFm\ and keep only "All Tracks & Cars_10.mas" file in this folder (remove the other files in this folder) and try again to update.
for the first issue you're encountering i can't help, but, for the others one i might have the answer.
Second: Fps drops while watching replays, especially when the overlay is rendered, is a known 'bug'.
Third: open settings > audio and set "channels" to 64.
Fourth: it's time to reinstall the runtimes, you'll find them here: ..\Steam\steamapps\common\rFactor 2\Support\Runtimes.
Fifth: if you try to join comp. system on wednesday, remember it's maintenance day and servers are down.
Anyone know what this added feature in July update does for force feedback? Mine is set as negative.
Added UI setting for toggling FFB strength direction between negative and positive.
Some wheels require reversed ffb. If your ffb feels strange, you might have to switch it.
Ah, o.k. thanks. Mine works fine on negative so I'll leave it there.
Usually it is the Logitech wheels that require a negative setting. There may be more, I'm just not familiar with any others.
Mine is a simucube 2 pro. Negative was default set after the July update added this feature in the UI.
my t500 worked on positive before the update
now is good on negative
Imo this system of keeping two copies of each workshop item is dumb and should be changed. At least give us the option to keep only the main files and not keep an extra copy in the workshop folder (that should also apply to paid DLCs). I've already done the unsubscribe and install from rfcmp file for a number of items but it still takes too much space on my SSD, and the ironic thing is that rF2 on SSD takes longer to load than other games on my HDD.
That's not ironic, because it's basically unrelated. SSD/HDD makes little difference when loading the game content in rF2.
The doubling up has been a bugbear since the switch to steam, some more familiar with the steam setup have said it's because of the way the content is categorised, or something. I think we can suppose it's not an easy job to do it differently now (making base content part of the game instead of subscription would save some of it, but then you may reduce user choice).
I have the AccuForce V2 and I have the same feeling specially with the 488FFB. Someone was broken. I feel lost with new steering wheel setting. Is there any guide that explain the new setting options?
Still can't take screenshots in the showroom
Within the UI pressing F12 (by default) takes a screenshot through steam. Have you checked the steam screenshots folder?
