Hello sim racers! A new update for our Monza circuit has been released - including two new track layouts! Check out all the information on the release post here - https://tinyurl.com/hk3t5cxh Have fun!
Great job. "this is as close to an oval as you are likely to get from a modern purpose build road course circuit." Okay we can stop asking for the oval layout
This is superb news, can't wait to get to launch rF2, I'll probably enjoy both of these layouts even more than original. Look for "Brianza" in steam workshops.
I think he meant the 'modern' old oval layout like iRacing has done. It just needs a small restoration on the exit of the second banking. It's very popular.
Ran a GTE enduro with our group last night and it was excellent. Fast rolling start went smoothly and all AI were great to race against. I tested the GT3s also and the AMG GT3 AI still suck on Lesmo 2. My advice is leave the track as is and get your car developers to fix that stupid car once and for all and use Monza to test it. If they can get 20 AMGs to get through Lesmo 2 without drifting or spearing into the wall, they will have succeeded.
@Paul Jeffrey Hello Paul. I miss the AI block line at Monza. Is that coming? I want to note that I was out in the rain ..
@Alex Sawczuk @Paul Jeffrey Hello I have here a few summaries because of the block paths. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1XwMJg657WFkfU9LqZiepfxnGMPN7q5jM/view?usp=sharing There is another problem. In the UI I can't load my saved real road surface. It always remains fixed at Default. This is a problem for me as an SP. So I can't race in the rain without the AI going to change the tyres to put on rain tyres. Pls fix that soon. The track otherwise is a dream!
To be fair that's almost a bug, because it's completely illogical. One of those "You just have to know how it works" things - exactly the type you'd hope a new UI would avoid.
I was out for a long time. I urgently needed a longer break from sim racing. I forget such little things. But that clearly shows that the UI is anything but user-friendly for newcomers. you have to bring some patience, time and perseverance with you. And that scares off many newbies. But who am I telling this? The priorities for us enthusiasts are very often incomprehensible. but when it comes to graphics, Paul is right. Let's see when our wishes will be tackled ....
sorry to repeat myself, but I have a fps drop always here, I'm alone ? vsync off or on....it ruins my immersion. edit : it seems fixed with the Formula pro update
@Alex Sawczuk Hello Alex. The AI still doesn't work very well. T2 The Porsche Cup Cars always brake in the Curva Grande. The AI hardly masters the 2 Lesmos at all. t8 variant Ascari is also often very problematic with formula vehicles (F1 1988). I always drive with an AI between 95 and 100%. Block paths are as good as nonexistent. (Not before T1 / not after T5 / not after T8. I can record and upload it again. The track has been available for a few weeks now and can only be enjoyed as a single player with an aftertaste of paths. That is very unfortunate.
Hi @memoNo1 Thanks for bringing this to my attention, the Porsche Cup Car seems to be more sensitive to corner radius than other cars, in the cars I tested with there was not braking in Curva Grande. The fact they were braking does mean they are using the block path though. The block paths are now more subtle with cars taking a middle of the road approach to make an overtake more difficult, by pulling them completely to the otherside of the track that is not really optimal. There is indeed a block path before T1, however T5 and T8 are not traditional overtaking areas, so by adding block paths there we would greatly slow down the AI when there is anyone nearby, so it is not deemed appropriate to add them there. I have however reviewed the block paths through the Lesmos and made some corrections to try to prevent the AI from understeering wide and causing crashes as they do in some cases - although the base issue is the AI are over-estimating the speed they can carry through the corner which is a car issue. I would need reports with official cars having issues at Ascari to look into that further, as I can not guarentee a third party mod has AI configured correctly in the car.
