thanks guys for all the help and comments. I have converted all the existing textures to Albedo levels and added some new versions today. It looks much better in RF2 already. Lilski what time scale are we looking at for your Lidar based version?
The track is "done" for the 2016/17 version I am doing now. I am just building track side objects now (http://www.racedepartment.com/threads/watkins-glen-international.139574/page-5#post-2629795). As for pre 69 I was going to wait until the modern version was finished. I was hoping originally to be done by the end of the year but life has gotten in the way lately so maybe not until the end of Jan or Feb.
still working on Watkins, changed many textures, added removed TSOs, looking much better.Still more to do though.
70s Watkins Glen release. I have finished my update to Watkins70s, dx11/Albedo tex, RRoad working good, start lights, scn/aiw/gdb/tdf RF2 types etc. http://www.mediafire.com/file/g5tic388l7ign4g/RF2_70sWatkinsGlen.rar
Pretty sure the guard rails were already blue through most of the 70s. Edit: Looks like it was a mixed bag early on. Some parts blue some not. Edit2: This is not a dig at anyone in particular but this is why I feel old track models should be retired. Especially when stuff like lidar data is available. The highlighted layout is the correct one. Again this is not to put anyone down as the data likely just wasn't available back when this track was originally made. That post is 32 feet tall in turn 1.

i found this interesting shot of Glen 1974 (never seen before for me) Patrick Depailler Elf Team Tyrrell 007 Ford. leading the group 1974 US Grand prix at Watkins Glen.
I love this track! I am new to rfactor2. Do you still plan to integrate a pre 70s config of the track like it was in Grand Prix Legends, because I miss this track so much.
