I did not say anything about Zolder. But I do think that it was instant underdog. Great track, wasn't appreciated nearly enough yet. And this is what I meant, community needs to be buzzing with life, and I wish for that to happen.
For Reiza I think the pack wouldn't generate significant amount of new sales, just my speculation. Another speculation is that from now on its purpose is to bring good light for Reiza, simply that. And light is generated by THE GOODWILL OF PEOPLE who knows how to enjoy it, and help others know it.
Like all things 'rFactor 2', the release of Zolder was botched, having succumbed to 'the rF2 curse': with the wrong files being uploaded into the servers, we lost the Zolder 24h momentum...
And about Zolder and in the rFactor 2 golden content:
I believe I mentioned this elsewhere but, I tested both Zolder and the visual upgrades made to the C6R GT2 - still one of my favourite cars and visually upgraded, even more so - at the same time with a heavy rubber I created with myself and AI on a 10x track evolution time scale -- it's just beautifully smeared and feeling raced upon -- I set up a long 90 min practice session with overcast to heavy rain, to partially cloudy weather progression and... I am not sure if its due to the absurdly detailed track mesh if due to C6R still being absolute 'Prime Beef' or a combination of both, but the wet track physics felt great and very believable, with the exception of not having puddles/standing water.
As the track became wet, slicks remained very much grippy whilst they retained temperature and still connected to the existing rubber. A complaint here would be that the tyres were holding temperature a bit too much, but eventually they started to give in and the wet line became a surface smeared with soap, not impossible to drive, but almost, whilst the wet line had significantly more grip and allowed more throttle application, but wet tyres were needed and there, the wet line being grippier than the rubbered line was even more marked.
Perhaps VR provides such a immersion that it generates a placebo effect on physics, but, I don't think so:
I use 100% head-physics in VR because, whoever parameterised the head-physics in rF2 should get a Nobel as it adds the perfect level of G-force illusion by being -- unlike any other game I tried* -- so brilliantly in sync with the FFB that you forget that you are in-game and due to that, the perception of loss of front grip or loss of traction is greatly enhanced... so I stand by perception that Zolder and the C6R gave a pretty solid wet weather driving feel.
PS: As the sun came out and the dry line began to form, it was really nice seeing the evolution, the wet tyres becoming hot... at which point I crashed and my session ended :-D
PPS: Also nice, AI Autocalibration in "2" - they really learn the track/car combo over a session and become extremely well behaved in Quali and in Race, however, you can only start a race once as if you re-start, it will make them forget everything (here, I am not sure if there is anything relating to, perhaps reverting to a random grid?)
