I didn't mean to say that they have anything to do with Porsches and Ferraris, but rather that Rfactor 2 has a lot of paid content, some updated to standard and some not, a lot of people don't buy it for that reason.

I wouldnt buy this DLC if i had read this thread before,but i bought it back then and frankly i raced and enjoy it many hours mostly online!

I have several acquaintances and people who raced in leagues that even have the game uninstalled, and people who came to my house to play it for their heads and who didn't buy it precisely because of that, one who is more annoying said that the steering wheel of the oreca is low resolution, and That's what I play with all the graphics at the maximum!, consider it with Atari graphics as they say, or as they told me a few days ago that it is archaic. Everyone knows that nowadays graphics are worth more than realism.

 

I also bought it and I'm making the most of it, but the lack of updates to the game in terms of paid DLC is a bit of a neglect.

I asked years ago in here why they use a old release thread for some mythical upgrades and instead to make a new thread so not to confuse people. Mod said WHY ! ? lol
I got rubbished and questioned ? Then also said they would never release it before LMU but again I got verballed " they are two different tracks etc. etc. "
But fact is they let this thread ramble on giving people false hopes is the first thing studios should not do.
I could see the writing on the wall clear as day.

Hypothesis: they'll never release Imola for rF2 before LMU, because <reasons>.

Case 1: it gets released on rF2 first; hypothesis disproved.

Therefore, case 2: it gets released on LMU first; hypothesis proved.

Except that's not how logic works. The first part is correct, but that doesn't imply the second.

But I've waited this long to point it out (again) because you don't understand and are probably happy thinking you're right all the time, and I'm kind of reluctant to keep arguing. Your nose-rubbing is totally unjustified. Your theory still makes no sense, and Imola appearing in LMU "first" (being made by S397, rather than a Reiza update of an already existing track... seriously, apples and oranges here) doesn't prove it.

The question that arises is why hasn't a version with PBR shaders come out yet?

 

From my perspective: As much as we may commiserate the lack of Reiza content updates in rF2, the level of anxiety expressed in Reiza forums (for AMS2 updates) exceeds them by quite a bit. In other words, demand is far greater there at the moment. There is a lot going on behind the curtain with AMS2.

We don't know what S397's role is in the (Reiza pack) content completion (if any), but they are also full speed ahead on bringing new content to LMU.

I get that some are upset about paid content not being updated but then, there are promising rF2 mods that progress very slowly - if at all, and waiting just comes with the territory sometimes. I think the trick to alleviate such anxiety is to find something else to help pass the time.

 

Reiza has agreed on the content licenses and they work on just one game, leaving rF2 aside, that's not good, but it's fair to them, if the studio doesn't even care about rF2 why would they care, so we have to find a lot of things to do and relieve anxiety.

 

Then you should question S397 as well, why they have not done same to all content, shaders, sound updates for cars, many other things.
Answer is simple to me ? .... rF2 doesn't pay enough.

Modders are fixing things like Interlagos replaces that terribly dated Sao Paulo has never been touched apart from update in 2017, S397 ownership, take the ISI off everything, whatever.

 

That's where the point comes in, who's going to buy something that looks bad if today what's most valuable is graphics.

 

But which company does the update? S397 or Reiza?

And I don't think a total update was needed, if it's an update like Toban's track, that's fine with me.

 

The update work has to be completely done by Reiza. S397 cannot alter some one else's property. The agreement between the two companies is most likely solely limited to S397 offering a marketplace for Reiza to sell products produced by Reiza. Some time ago, like 2023 or even maybe 2022, Reiza posted they had contracted with a respected rF2 modder to update their tracks and possibly the cars.
Then sometime last year, there was a post from Reiza asking for contact information for the new crew running S397 as the work had been completed. The files were inspected and sent back for some minor tweeks, afaIk, but then a new limbo occurred as we have not heard anything since from either party.

If anyone is going to have a go at Reiza after this long then the same should be said about other content whether DLC or not.

That time has passed and I already indicated I don't think rF2 can pull the revenue needed for such a undertaking.

Ergo, so I don't see why undue pressure should be put on a single DLC over all else.

 

I don't think any of this was really said, but just assumed. Reiza asked for the new contact information but I don't think they ever said it was finished. And I don't remember anyone saying the files were sent back, I don't think anyone got this much internal information. If I remember right, the last piece of information from Reiza was that the update was coming soon. Something major must have happened after that.

It was Reiza that teased with an update of their DLC. Studio 397 never claimed they could update all the old content, nor they said when they would do it. Some of the old content was licensed by ISI or done without a license, thus its use is more limited and not as worthy to update or impossible to update without relicensing.

At this point, some users might have bought the Reiza DLC on the promise that it was being updated. I can understand the frustration but let's just wait. I guess they'll release it at some point,

 

It was said on discord. Renato Simioni submitted the update via Will Bennett from MSG. It was checked and wasn't made properly.
