They are looking for money to build new sim. It seems like building it from scratch. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/reiza-simracing-bonanza/x/11176985 I already supported it!! They deserve community help UPDATE: 100%+ HAS BEEN RISED and still going higher
Considering I don't have any of Reiza's software on my HDD, I'll definitely support this. Sounds like they bought the source to the rF1 engine? I was hoping their next step would be into the rF2 engine, but this should be just as interesting, seeing what people say about GSCE and what they have done.
From an interview with RaceDepartment regarding Steam: RD: Steam is clearly the leading digital distribution platform for games, so it's an important gateway to a whole new audience. How did the GSCE Steam launch go? Reiza: It went very well, and is still going remarkably well considering we're working with titles initially released almost 2 year ago. In hindsight we clearly underestimated how much of a role Steam has in the PC gaming market place, otherwise we'd have pushed to make the move sooner. Fortunately it does not seem like we made the move too late.
"The main goal of this campaign is to boost the development budget for the existing games in order to develop them further" Seems the "New Sim" is an added on bonus for them to get started with. Makes perfect business sense to me, they have the platform that will do the marketing for them leaving Reiza to concentrate purely on the game updates & new sim itself. "We recently have finalized a deal with ISI for licensing the ISIMotor source code" Sounds to me like they bought the ISIMotor source code, especially as they will add "Dynamic weather & track conditions." I'm not one to normally give money into this sort of thing due to various reasons, but with Reizas decent history and their vision for future updates to the current game/s I may think about putting in a small amount to help them a long.
Few things there I said would be good in rF3 years ago Customized Huds is a start but needs to be expanded into the garage. Coors and Dirt weeee Championships, DX12, weather ............ Better get a move on ISI, I was ready to fund rF3 greenlight a year ago.
If they're releasing on Steam, and would like to potentially leverage the advantages of the Steam boxes, they (and most/all game companies for that matter) should seriously consider Vulkan (the next generation OpenGL). It sounds like it should be as powerful as DX12, and be multi-platform (e.g. Linux).
not buying into anything without knowing specifics ( I'd trust Renza enough as their previous stuff has been polished nicely ) or ever a "beta" again it's advanced features like the 24hr transitions / dynamic track / lighting etc ( we already have in rfactor 2 ) that I like , awaiting VR support in rf2 that's all I need not really interested in graphics ( rf2 & Iracing graphics fine for me ) if they were building a new title sim on rfactor 2 platform , I'd support no problem
Guess you are OK as long as this news has relationship with you (isI motor). Can you give us any info in this deal Tim?
I can't see why anyone would begrudge Reiza for their 'Kickstarter' campaign given all the free updates over the course of the life of (Game) Stock Car Extreme. Looking forward to seeing what they manage to accomplish; the tiers are pretty reasonable given the sim will be $40USD at launch and a $50 USD pledge gives one access to a standard copy of their next sim.
V8SC, Supertrucks and Montreal. Looks awesome. That's not the impression I get. "We recently have finalized a deal with ISI for licensing the ISIMotor source code"
i dont understand why they wanna make rf1 engine doing what rf2 engine is doing. Why not use rf2 engine rite away? Or even better, drop everything and join ISI dev team! I'll throw all my money on that!
I`m in! And for sure, if ISI would start something similar for rF3 (or whatever), i would join the Funding, too...
You was ready, rF2 is not ready. Where do you get this crazy idea about rF3? Community Q&A Q: Any internal talks about DX11 in the future ? Is the move to DX11 much to complex? A: It’s not about complexity, it is about benefit. There isn’t enough benefit to using it right now, though that does not mean there won’t be benefit going forward (though that might be with DX12, DX13, etc).
ISI should go out for funding for " rf ultimate" their next simulator discount "investment" for existing rf2 users incorporates the best features of rf2's advanced dynamics updated some of the best existing rf2 car content +few new ones as voted by community (exciting stuff good publicity too) x12 laser scanned tracks total , x4 on 1st release ...don't skimp on this ( yep this is where the costs are & a new step for ISI , there's people in this community with some know how already ) online annual membership ( official server list similar to Iracing , but fewer series using official content only) 1 annual payment per year ( slight saving on Iracing ) great damage model ( others tad weak here ) online only similar to Iracing ? any further official content is paid dlc ( laser scanned tracks & cars ) to support ongoing content development etc come on ISI you can pull this off no probs, why not ? a new fresh start for the ISI team I'll "invest" as I'm sure many other will too things have changed since rf1 I think now this is the very best way to go + we have rf2 to keep us happy in the meantime (-: some polish & support continues for rf2 ( just to keep people happy in the meantime) ps please don't bring back plug in delays though (-;
"We recently have finalized a deal with ISI for licensing the ISIMotor source code - the game engine our games are built on" ? Could be my mistake. So theyre using rf2 engine huh?
No idea as they weren't specific in that quote but I would assume since they did mention dynamic track conditions in game features that they licensed ISIs latest code. aka rF2.
