    Hey guys.
is someone there who is able to read the trace files? I got major issues with random shut downs of rfactor 2 while racing on track. I've no clue if it comes from an overheating CPU or RAM? Or maybe it has to do with content or controllers or plugins or...
I'm a bit dispaired. On this friday, 7th June I'll race at Le Mans in an endurance race.
So can anybody help me to find the issue?

It would help if you provide as much info as you can, and trace files. List the plugins you are using. System specs. Check your temperatures.

If it's overheating, it won't show up. If it's a plug-in, your game wouldn't start. If you're using the 32bit version, it'll run out of memory fast. You can download some temperature monitoring programs to check that, though if your CPU is overheating, I think your entire computer would turn off, if you GPU was overheating, you'd probably start seeing artifacts on screen, and it would probably turn off too.
You can post a trace file here for people to look at.

    Edit:
    All that typing for nothing...:(
    Beaten again.

My 2 cents, are your hardware drivers up to date?

    thank you guys.

    My specs are:

    i5 4590 @3,3GHz
    16GB RAM
    WIN 10 Pro 64 bit

Plugins are all disabled, except rfactor2sharedmemory...

Additionally I use CrewChief and VoiceAttack (for key bindings, macros and speech recognition)
I also used SimHub for a while but it crashed very often. I heard that i5 and SimHub don't fit together..?

@ coutie: All the things you described did not happen.
@ADSTA : hardware drivers are up to date.

Could some bad soldering of a diy buttonbox cause such problems? I have diy buttonboxes. One of these three have some ghosting sometimes..!?

Do I have to paste the whole data from the trace file in a post or can I upload it as a file?

Troubleshooting a random problem can be downright soul destroying.
Years ago I got so frustrated troubleshooting my pc that would randomly crash with rF1 that I gave up and demoted that pc to general non gaming duties and built a new pc for gaming. Serenity now!

I would first remove all the 3rd party programs and try and reduce your rF2 install to a near default state. Only have the one mod and track you need.
Also only have your wheel and pedals plugged in.
Then start doing laps.......with your fingers crossed and more importantly your tongue should be poking out the left side of your mouth, not the right. ;)
    Good luck.
Almost forgot, do you play any other games and do they crash?

Also, does it happen in single player? It crashed right as someone joined, maybe that has something to do with it.

In Single player it doesn't crash.
And...my first thoughts were, that it has to do with the mod.
I use the gt3 and endurance content from s397. The track is a modern LeMans 24h layout. BUT! The content is provided by simsync. An additional programm to get mods and skins prepared for the league races.
In an other Championship (with the URD GTE Mod) there are no issues like that...
But the difference is, that the content for this series is provided by steam Workshop.

But...at the moment it seems to be, that I'm the only one in this endurance series who have those issues...!?

@Coutie: can you tell me the line in the trace file, where I can find that join issue?
Today I've had another file. Also a ctd while beeing on the server.

@ADSTA: yeah...I'm wondering and solving for to long now... I saved some money yet. Maybe black friday will be a verry expensive one this year :D

Right at the end, it says:
834.48s JNILog.cpp 32: New Message received: Max Staude has entered the race.
    835.03s queue.cpp 2270: Event SessionName "Practice"
    835.03s steward.cpp 7621: SetSessionName( "Practice" )
So, half a second after he joined, it crashed. I also saw he was on the server earlier in the logs, with a custom skin, maybe it's causing your issues.

    Okay. Thank you @Coutie.
I'll check that and compare my other trace files.
Maybe I can comprehend it with some replay files from races I took part in.

So here is a little update.
I checked the race reports and replays. No one left the race just in time with my ctd. Maybe someone joined as an spectator, but this can't be comprehend in the log files and so on.

What I did for now is to uncheck the button "download custom skins automatically" and update crew chief and voice attack.
I don't have had any issues yesterday, while I was on the train server with about 17 drivers. Every leave and join was no problem.
So fingers crossed for todays evening...

    Hello guys.
The Race on 7th June is past. Me and my PC did very well! Unfortunately I didn´t reach the end of the race because of a blown engine. Till this part of the race everything went well. Almost for 2 hours. I didn´t have issues with micro stuttering or lags. The CPU bar in the top right corner didn´t flicker wild and frames were stable.
So I would say, to update voice attack and uncheck the "downlaod custom skins automatically" button, were the right decisions.
So fingers crossed for the next race in 5 weeks.
    Thank you for now folks!
