    Hello @ all,

I have an AMD 5600 X with an RTX 3070 ans 16 GB RAM.
Especially on the Nürburgring Endurance I have very often FPS-Drops.
In „Afterburner“ I See tust the RAM usage is very high. When ist goes over 14GB I have often FPS-Drops.
Does anyone know the reason ?
    Many THX in advance !
    Stefan

Recommended 32GB, specially for big circuits like this. You can disable replay recording or lower the quality, maybe lowering track and car details too. Those things might help.

Is that RAM usage or VRAM you are asking about?
Your vidcard has 8gb? if you are trying to load 14gb of video data, then it must swap out. IF...and so far this is an IF, that was VRAM at 14gb, then you must reduce your graphic settings until you get under the 8gb threshold.

    Hi,
I´m talking about RAM-Usage. I have 16GB RAM and Rfactor 2 the most time uses 14,7- 15 GB...

I guess is the amount of textures of the track + a field of different cars. I would start with opponent details, try to lower it and see if it affect your pc.

ok, good, just wanted to clarify. Windows uses a certain amount of ram as well as any other programs you may have running. I would follow @Comante 's advice and reduce your graphic load, but also kill any background programs you have running. Browsers, chats, anything that could be consuming resources.

Thank you very much. I have no other program running in background (sometimes only the "Fanalab" from "Fanatec").
When the track (Nürburgring Endurance Layout) is loading I can see that RAM-usage starts with 5 GB and then rise up to 14,5 GB when track is loaded....

Reduce visible cars to 10/12 hardly you can see more anyway but this could delay the time in which your GPU need the textures of each car.

And did you try reducing the number opponents to see if your ram still fills up?

I'm pretty sure 16gb is enough, the RAM usage displayed is the allocated, not the real usage.

    I have 2 RAM Displays in „Afterburner“.
The first one shows 14,8 GB and the second over 20 GB. So I think the second one is the allocated or ? Remind that I only have 16 GB…

MSFS 2020 asks 16gb and Cyberpunk77 16gb....I really doubt rF2 needs 32gb, I will post my ram usage

    One important information:

I have an average Framerate about 160 FPS at the Nürburgring Grand Prix Layout but sometimes massively FPS-Drops.

16GB is definitly enough. I was running 16GB myself without any problems. Hard FPS drops on this track are quiet common. How deep do they drop for you?

  18. taskmgr should give a little more detailed overview of usage of RAM - as already mentioned it might be allocated or something like that but I have seen rF2 taking only a few GB of RAM. Windows does also have a filesystem cache and so on and it will take around 6 GB I think by its own.

Reducing the number of visible enemies does not help, because the textures of all vehicles still have to be stored in the Vram, because of course it is not predictable which vehicle is visible at the moment. Here it only helps to reduce the track and vehicle texture detail level.
8Gb is simply too little for the Nordschleife with the highest texture level, I had the same with my 1070 GTX.

With 8 GB you mean VRAM ?
