Hello, everyone. I have a question about the rain races. I have successfully tested it at Brands Hatch and the Nürburgring GP. The AI is automatically on rain tyres and does not go into the pits in the first lap to change to rain tyres. Unfortunately it didn't work with Mugello and Adelaide. So this error is not due to the sim nor to the mod. So the bug can only be in the track mod? And how can it be fixed? Tester with the WTC2018 and STC2000 mod.
Make sure you complete the last session prior to the race. If you cut a session short, the AI will collapse into a pool of melted jello. It is a known bug and has been known for about 3 years. You will find that phrase repeated if you ask other questions about the AI.
Okay, thank you. But why does it work one track and not another? Bug...? And finish all sessions with time multi...? I'll try it.
I wouldn't get your hopes up. I did a full length race with official 397 McLarens, at Silverstone in a dry wet dry race, and the AI pitted up to 6 times. Constantly switching between wet and dry or just constantly changing wet tyes. Some even crawled around on drys the whole race. Wet weather AI logic was a shambles under ISI, and it still is.
I THINK S397 planned, AFTER the competition system was completed, to improve the AI and racing rules at least a bit. By "a little" I mean fixing the main known bugs and making slight improvements. I can't believe they haven't at least adjusted theirs plans/to do list/priorities a bit, knowing that a large number of their users have been playing rFactor 2 mostly offline for years.
