We are very proud to announce RacePad. RacePad is the ideal iOS companion app for rFactor and rFactor 2. It displays tons of information that isn't available in-game. It offers a detailed timing screen, a comprehensive dashboard, an interactive trackmap and a clever strategy view. All the vital racing information you need is displayed on iPad, freeing your monitor from any clutter. RacePad can be downloaded from the App Store for free! No ads, no in-app purchases. Head over to the website (www.tyka.net/racepad) for full details and screenshots. RacePad was designed and developed with lots of attention to detail. We spent many months iterating over the many features and we are sure the app is an essential tool when it comes to sim racing. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we did making it and are looking forward to your feedback. Edward and Antti. ** Update 30 May 2017: added iPhone support **
Many thanks for this contribution Edward and Antti ! [emoji4][emoji41] App is installed. I will check out the app later in the evening. I did also a look to the website and found some nice tutorials. That looks all very good.
Can't seem to connect. I opened up the port and checked the ip address, but to no avail. Any ideas, it's windows 10?
Hi, We haven't tested it on Win10 but it should work all the same, so let's see what's wrong There is an installation guide here: http://www.tyka.net/racepad/install-guide.html If you have followed the steps, can you have a look at your rfactor folder, locate the RacePadLog.txt file and post the contents here? If it's not there, try running rFactor with admin privileges.
Thanks guys. Be sure to let us know if you have any comments or find any bugs. Unfortunately for the Android users there's no version planned. If any Android programmer wants to join us to make one, he's very welcome. We could possibly do an (adapted) iPhone version if there's demand for it.
First of all; thank you very much for this wonderful app!! It works like a charm, looks good and is easy to install. I mean; if there is one person in the whole wide world having problems installing something; its me And I didn't; installed the app, the plugin, set my ip and it ran. Configured the button to scroll; works fine. So if I can do it; anyone can Tried it out this morning but couldn't "drive and play around", so I got my 14yo daughter running Edmonton City Airport in an Indycar all morning I forgot to set the FFB lower, so she has some muscles now Lots of information in there; I think its thought through quite a bit, so well build. If an iPhone version could be made; I vote "yes" or better "please". Its easier to attach a phone than an iPad as the phone can be mounted in the wheel base for instance. Congratulations with this awesome app and thanks again!
It is for iphone JeDa. And for those with android. Google apple emulator for android. It is around never tried it but very tempted now. Thanks tijgernootje
Thanks for the feedback Navigator! Just to correct you Eddy, currently it's iPad only and not available on iPhone Technically it can run on an iPhone as well (I gave it a try), but the interface requires adapting to make things fit better on the smaller screens. Not sure how well it would run in an emulator on Android, it might require a lot of CPU power, but feel free to give it a try
I really like the app. Great work. Is it possible to show the team name instead of the "vehicle" in the timing tab? Also, is it possible to add the tyre compound to the strategy tab? Just some small suggestions, i hope you dont mind. Anyway, great work! If you would create an iPhone app, perhaps you could make an F1 style dash. With some velcro tape you could easily attach you phone to your wheel. Would be great! Verzonden vanaf mijn iPhone met behulp van Tapatalk
This is a fantastic piece of software. Am just after running it perfectly on Automobilista beta (On win10 I might add). No problems. Many, many thanks. A rev counter and speedometer screen could be good.
Banging my head against the wall. Here is the RacePadLog.txt: STARTUP: RacePad plugin version 1 Network port: 8080 OK: accept thread created: 7120 STARTSESSION ENDSESSION SHUTDOWN I changed the port to 8080 because I know that one is open through the firewall. But still can't connect. Update: I was attempting to connect on track and that wasn't working. I connected from the main menu and it connected, but I was getting any data displayed. Bummer I was excited there for a bit when it connected.
