I'm wondering if it's OK to remove the package files from \rFactor2\DataSettings\Packages once they've been installed/updated as they then appear (to me) to be installed in \rFactor2\DataSettings\Installed ? It Seems a bit unnecessary if they are to be left in there taking up extra HD space if not needed. Sorry if this has been asked already.
Good question because we also have them in our downloads folder, then in packages and finaly in the game. thats 3x a million tracks and mods in the near future, thats allot of data
If there's any chance that the original package will be upgraded you're probably going to want to keep it.
The manager should (in theory at least) know the version of the mod you have installed, and the rfmod shouldn't really be needed anymore for future updates...
One way to try would be a reinstall with the renault3.5 and update but I'm having too much fun at the moment for that.
I tried it: Uninstalled Formula Renault, took both rfmod out of Packages. Checked the Mod Manager, FR didn't show up. Put the 1.0 pack back into Packages, reloaded Mod Manager, FR shows up, installed 1.0. Took 1.0 rfmod out of Packages, reloaded Mod Manager, shows up and works fine. Put 1.1 update back in packages, updated without the 1.0 in there without problems. So yeah, rfmods aren't needed in the Packages folder after installation, not even for updating.
