I am trying to convert an rFactor 1 track to rFactor 2, I am following spaskis1976's tutorial, doing exactly as he said but for some reason, whenever I load the track in Dev Mode, it just loads a black screen. It loads the scene for a millisecond before the scene just goes black. Any help would be appreciated :)

Most of the time it doesn't even load the track for a millisecond.

I would have to look at it to try to find the problem. I think I got that error some time in the past but it was so long ago that I have forgotten what caused it. I rarely use dev mode anymore since it has some differences with normal mode and I just pack the track into a component to test it.

If you cannot solve it you could upload it to your dropbox account and pm me the link so that I can better help you.

Check the materials, someone is missing from tdf I think.

Spaskis: Thank you, if I cannot solve it, I will probably do that
Vicent-Sollana: Can't see anything wrong with the TDF, in Spaskis's tutorial, he didn't touch the TDF and it worked.

Vicent tells you that you might be using a material which is not within the standard that come in the tdf file.

Another thing is no valid surface at 0,0,0. Dev mode places the car at that location by default. If nothing is there for the car to be on, the screen goes to black. I had that recently with a large oval, with 0,0,0 being close to the geometric center of the track. I ended up editing pit lane to stretch some pavement to that location. It worked, and I was able to drive to the track.

You know, just happen me with a car, start load track, finish loading screen then black then CTD, i check it and have missed assigned maps, not map that rf2 don't find, but one material has maps unassigned never, when it has the red dot?, maybe is the same with your issue.

Edit: straight CTD, wihtout ask for maps.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!!! :) I'm now going to tell everyone what is the cause of the problem so if they come across this problem, they can easily solve it. It's the TDF file that is causing the problem, just copy the TDF file from the original rF1 Track and if it says "Error loading (whatevertrack)_Groove, then just go into the TDF file and replace where it is trying to locate to that file and replace it with racegroove.tga. Hope this advice helps :)
