Updating the component would work.
If the server has skin downloading enabled each user could chose their own skin and use it online while still having it visible to others. I'm no server admin so I'm not entirely sure how to set that up.
 
Thx Ethone but I already stated I would want to avoid doing that, so my question was, is there another way?
I see skinpacks being released for online usage and they are just a bunch of skins to drop into the settings/car folder. that is my wish as well.

But that doesn't seem to work, not with our own skins and neither with designated skinpacks from other people. Not even the one Tim created. Its not just me either, when I test with members its always the same story.

oh and btw skin transfers are disabled in this build. or would that be the reason its not working?

Maybe. I don't see how transfers have anything to do with it though. if I give you 3 skins externally for a certain car and we join up online, we should be able to see them without the server involvement?

But Hectari says transfers are working, whilst Jeremy stated it was disabled for 660. that is so great, I love rf2 :-)
 
Dutch Samurai, I think it won't work the first time you're together in the server but once that changes, like a reset or you exit the game and return, you'll then see the livery.

Hi guys,

very nooby question unfortunately. I am trying to locate the files that these skins have to be entered in. Would someone kindly give me a path at all? I have used this path Documents\rFactor2\UserData\player\Settings but I cannot locate all of the car folders? would some one help please?

is there a place thats collated all these skins? (specifically URD ones) trouncing through every page is a PITA currently :P thanks
 
There's sites all over with skins and skinpacks. gotta get lucky I guess.

I wasn't, I searched this entire thread for FR3.5 2010 skins to add to our league pack. took me a long time.
and then they had the nerve to release the 2014 mod and now all our custom skins are redundant :-)
 
Sorry it took so long but I had to redo some stuff because I wasn't quite happy with it. These are the first skins I release so please don't expect top notch work. I did my best (for now) and I hope there are no big flaws. #99 is missing but will be done soon.

The skins are based on EraZr1's 2013 LeMans skins, so thanks to EraZr1 for giving permission to release the cars.
