Is this possible? I haven't succeeded.
    Will it be possible, ever?

    Yes, completely possible.

Best to extract the MAS files that you can, and edit the .scn files to reference the MAS files you can't extract. Set it up just like a normal devmode track other than that.

*edit with tag in case you aren't watching the thread...

    Here's some screenshots for Sebring.

Sebring folder, the locked MAS files in there, folders for each of the layouts whose MAS files you can extract:

Inside the layout folders, Johnson Club in this example, all the extracted files and that's the .scn file....

... which I've edited like so:

(you can also get it running without extracting anything, but it does interesting things like stopping you using any external cams)

I didn't think it was possible...

I've previously been able to just straight copy/paste track folders from the installed/locations folder straight into devmode-locations...
No problem, track cams only working if the cam file was extracted...
This didn't work with the DLC-tracks, they'd CTD upon load... But now I know there is a way, Thanks @Lazza, I'll have to look deeper into it.
I need the Le Mans track mostly...

    It depends.
If a Track has no different Layouts, there is no need to create a Main Folder.
In the End, it only is important, that the Link to the TDF in the GDB, matches the Position of the TDF, that it can be found.

Sure. Perhaps I should have said the .tdf goes in the common folder rather than the layout folders, unless there aren't any layout folders. Then it still goes in the main folder because there aren't any layout folders.

It also only works when 1+1 still equals 2, the computer the files are on uses binary to represent ASCII encoding, etc.

I notice Joesville in devmode uses a layout folder despite having only one. It seems a logical thing to do - nothing needs to move if you happen to add a layout later, things like .gdb references to .tdf files all follow the same pattern, etc. But obviously specifics may require some other action. I'll do a full list of 'if-then's later, so no one need think for themselves or learn anything.

    Hi @Lazza

Trying what you have suggested to edit the cut detection at the new Donington DLC track. Unfortunately every time i try and load the track in dev mode i get a CTD. Ive added the mas files to the scn file as sugested, and placed the tdf file in the main track folder. Ive attached screenshots of what the scn and my track folder look like.

    Thanks in advance!

@ben willis the folder should be DoningtonNational, not layoutNational, I think.

The path of your track specific Mas files is wrong and the assetsMaterials.mas path is missing.

    Hi @ben willis .
The assetsMaterials.mas is missing in the SCN file.
I suposse that exists a DoningtonNational.mas. Have you extracted it to the DoningtonNational folder?
The same with the layoutGP and the rest of layouts (if there are more)

Why so complicated? Just copy the whole Donington folder to moddev/locations. Copy the three mas-files from 1.01 to 1.00, delete the 1.01 folder and then open both Donington-layouts in devmode. Happy AIW-editing

Thanks all for the various suggestions, have now got this working in aiw editor. Any ideas how to package an updated layout mas? What files need to go in the subsequent 1.02 update and does it need to have a minimum build set in the mas rfcmp tool? Tried creating an update with the two layout mas files and the shared mas similar to v1.01 package, then making it dependant on the base 1.00, but if i run this on the rfactor dedicated server, i get a gmt error saying HorizonWrap.gmt is missing? Any ideas?
