Apparently you guys aren't understanding my comment, I wasn't blaming the track, I was specifically telling and refering to a time of how dangerous it can be to be racing in something as an open wheeler like an Indycar on a very unique but small track like pocono can be quite dangerous if you're not carefull enough.
Whatever... Racing is (still) dangerous but today it is mostly freak accidents that kill people like Surtees, Bianchi and Wilson. Pocono, small? It's a superspeedway, isn't it? I guess I'm just misunderstanding again? Onwards... Good to see a spectacular track like this being brought into rF2 - and I say that while not being the biggest oval-fanatic.
Looking great! Glad to hear that you are able to make use of the LiDAR data. Really looking forward to the track. I've always liked the oval that are not ovals (Pocono, Rio, Nazarath etc)
I had a bit of a hard time re modeling the track according to the LIDAR data. The track's elevation profile didn't made it easy. Only need to tweak a nasty bump i accidentally build into the apron, right at the pit entrance. Don't think jumping into pits is an adequate way to enter them View attachment 19223 View attachment 19224 View attachment 19225
I pm'd A13 just last week, and it looks like with his current situation, a release is a long time away. As I am continuing with my release of fill in tracks, Pocono is now added to the list. It is probably somewhere middle of around another 8 tracks I will convert.
