    Hi guys,

I'm making a track from scratch. I created a terrain and I want to know if there is any script that helps me put trees on it randomly, rather than me putting them one on one? thanks.

    Hi Vicent:

If you have 3D Studio Max 2012, you can use "Paint Objects", however I prefer a script called "Advancer Painter" (also works with other 3D Max versions). You can find it here:

    http://www.scriptspot.com/3ds-max/scripts/advanced-painter

With "Randomizer", you can do this very easily.

Just don't do 100% random as that won't look realistic. Have to try to pay a little bit of attention to the landscape and imagine how trees propogate and where (slope and soil) they grow.

This tool does not work just by pressing a button, you have to "paint" for where you want the trees, but you can adjust parameters for certain level of randomness, especially between different types of (in this case) trees.

I can for sure tell the top pic is testing, but the bottom pic with the cross walk (bridge) looks pretty darn good.

Or with gtools jar planter, you can plant objects with the mouse.
