At the moment the problem I found is having some Lap will not count warning at at least a couple of places depending on the car. One was the one I previously said and another I had was a few laps later at a righthander hairpin. If we had none of those warnings this would be great for an event.
What car are you driving that gives you these warnings? I can't seem to get any cut track warnings to trigger. EDIT Think I found the culprit. Reworking the AIW right now
Turn off Flag rules Gorgias. I get the cut just before the half way point. myself9, I see that there is a grass jpg texture. Would converting that to dds format get the MIP Mapping working? Seems to have a sparkly effect high up the mountain viewed from a distance. Maybe not worth it if it's a huge job.
I've been working on the textures for the last few days. I've switched out the grass, road and gravel textures, and made them all DDS's. It's tough to find a happy medium LOD setting to stop all the flickering. Getting there. I found the bad cut road section that's causing the problems -- I keep fixing it but the new AIW keeps making the game crash. I'll figure that crap out!
Sure, that'd be great. I have it hosted on mediafire and over at RD. The more the merrier I suppose. Thanks!
Thank you so much for new version. You did a great job, I could see straight off all the nice new textures. Gravel looks so much better. No more sparkly grass up in the hills. Never had any cut warnings too. Great frame rates. All in all nice update. cheers.
Can't race here for some reason. After the track is loaded I start to hear crackling noise from my earphones and when I press "race" the game totally freezes and my wheel tilts and jamms to the other side. Can't even force stop to the programm but have to restart pc. This problem exists only with this track. Any advice?
Thanks for bringing this up TIG. I loaded up Pike's 2 days ago with the same results. Couldn't find a work around so just "Uninstalled" :-( Is it a 64 bit issue?
I had this issue as well on a 64-bit system. I fixed the issue by reducing the amount of opponents. I had it at 29 (max) and it would do exactly as you've described. After reducing opponents to 25, it loaded just fine. I think it has to do with the lack of pit spots, and the cars collision system going haywire because there are 10 cars all smashed on top of each other.. Aside from that little issue, this track is AWESOME. Great job on the track surface.
That's strange. Does it lock up if you do a private practice session? (ie: you alone) Now that I think of it, I lowered the amount of AI, but I also lowered the number of AI vehicle/classes. For example I was running against 4 different types of cars rather than 6... if that makes sense. I also switched the weather from Scripted to Default Sunny. Perhaps one of those could be the key.
Sorry I didn't respond earlier. I was camping my ass off I'm thinking (hoping) that the issue is in fact having AI turned on. As it stands now, I think that there are only 4 garage spots. Anything AI more than that will definitely cause multiple cars to spawn on top of each other. Which can be sort of entertaining to watch from the TV cam.
It is entertaining, I spawn behind cars and backup to get out. Other cars run through the woods on both sides of road before finding the road, if you let them run for a while, you end up seeing them re-spawn near parking spots without a lot of their fender and hood panels.
