Hi there! Sorry for not replying sooner, I check periodically every few days, I forgot to do so last week. Yes, there was an update. Perhaps the Sellfy mailing system is a little buggy because you're not the first person to not receive the email about it. Please check your original purchase email, hopefully by following the link to download it you should be able to obtain the newer version. which has a fix for the rear view mirrors not working. Let me know if you have any problems
Hi Thanks a lot for your message! I'm glad you like the track on the whole. I would have reproduced the version with the chicanes, which no doubt would have made it a little more fun, but there doesn't exist enough reference material to make an accurate version of them, bar a brief video of one of the two. Turn three is also markedly different and apart from a poorly drawn circuit map from nearly 100 years ago, there are no traces of the corner nowadays. It made sense to stick to the 1957 layout. Regarding your last sentence, unfortunately it has been a spectacular flop! Firstly I would like to thank everyone who has supported my work, I appreciate it a lot, and it means a lot to me! Sadly though I'm not at a third of that number, and obviously that's including all the purchases from AC and AMS1 players as well. It has received video coverage, which of course I'm grateful for, but the engagement doesn't lead to many people actually wanting to play it. There is this video from Mitsos doing a hotlap in AC, which has 77000 views.. Since that video was released a month ago I have had 32 purchases from Youtube according to Sellfy analytics, and I've had to spend a lot of time getting pirated links taken down. I think I probably overestimated the appeal of the track, and the number of players interested in historic racing from so long ago, which of course is not the fault of anyone. I have time now to bring Napoli up to rF2 standards, which I will do shortly and will post about here, but beyond that my tentative plans to carry on and make San Remo and Livorno are sadly looking much more unlikely. The past year of development has been a full time venture gone wrong - I'm scrambling to try and get a real world, "proper" job now, and any future works would be in whatever spare time I may have.
@Italotracks Thank you for honest detailed reply. I think technically 1957 layout is a great choice. Better than 1937, for me it is fun to fly at that high speed too, and have a minute or so faster lap. None of the available tracks for pre-war grand prix racing is fully exact, but they all are very satisfyingly close, including your Pescara. Sorry to hear, that the sell numbers were less than expected. But perhaps they will continue rising steadily, it is still something. Sometimes I think I'd rather have 10 people buy my mods and actually value them, than to have 500 people just downloading for free, out of which 250 is not even going to launch it in game, 125 will download it just to drive it for 10 minutes in inadequate car/track and poor skill, 25 will download to host it in their bootleg download website that will lead to lost engagement, out of 100 that will actually drive - 20 will drive it appropriately and truly experience it and will be able to tell themselves if the standard is good. No need to guess, obviously numbers are highest from selling for AC. Player numbers that sim is hitting are astonishing. I left AC back in 2019, I understood back then AC, despite being very limited, saturates needs for majority of simracers. I couldn't imagine it will go that much higher in numbers. It is a failure of S397/Luminis 2018-2020 management not being able to take at least 1/4th of these numbers, and incredible win of Kunos 2015-2017 management, but it is another topic. I guess the problem about selling for AC is that it also is incredibly saturated with content to compete with, people are perhaps cheapest in AC out of all simulation platforms, competing with lots of bootleg websites re-hosting mods without any reach to original creators. Players in rF2 are cheap also though, I guess free modding just does that, there are leagues in rF2 that will exclusively use only free mods, and almost maliciously avoid official content. So what is there to expect for a paid mod. I think valuable things really should not come for free. Especially when content is reaching such levels that it requires months if not years of developing almost full time. It is also actually better for people too - as there is so much content including all the ripped stuff - paying money will increase chances of them actually using and experiencing the creation - which is a plus if it is well made, reducing risk of being underrated. Maybe even if selling numbers are low, maybe it is still better to sell, almost solely based on that it is a statement - I have done this myself, and I have done it well, and this is valuable. I think it would also be interesting to know how the patreon subscriber model can work out, such as one that Abulzz is using meanwhile he works on Targa, it could be a lot better option, even assuming you would still make same amount of money, you would maintain engagement all the way through, it could be better for exposure as you'd get mentioned more. Engagement is serious thing, when you put your love and soul into creation some words can be valuable more than money (although money is essential to live lol), certainly more valuable than amount of downloads and likes. I am also considering what I could do if I want to keep on modding and don't be slowly killing myself that way. At first I have to prove I can do something well for free. The vintage content is indeed in massive disadvantage. But who knows, maybe due some kind of fluke it will start trending. Even going way down to 50s and maybe even to 30s and 20s... I think there should be enough history interested simracers through whole world who could pay off work for vintage content modding. It is 2024, we should be organized well enough so that a 50-100 skilled modellers could make whole 50s Mille Miglia in 10x100miles sections in a year or two, and get paid for it. Moon landing happened in 1969, and these days pretty girls make millions yearly for showing some skin and running bots to engage with "fans", so don't say it is impossible !
Just purchased the Pescara pack and the Gran Premio Di Napoli for AC. I don`t have AMS1 but look forward to trying the tracks in rF2 and AC and no doubt crashing many times. Many thanks for the tracks and all the work.
Thanks very much, I hope you enjoy them! Napoli will be updated for rF2 in the near future (this month) I'm halfway through doing it.
Ignore the freeloaders and those that just want everything for free and don't appreciate hard work. Many of us do appreciate the historic stuff and thank you so much for doing it!
Thank you so much for this great mod. I bought it when it was released and also grabbed Napoli. Napoli is of course a bit outdated, but Pescara is great, especially if you drive the Mercedes-Benz W125 there. I drove four laps in a row yesterday. If you can get Napoli updated, we'll have pretty nice track selection for a small "1930s GP racing" type of series. As for the track's sales figures, have you tried promoting this mod to rFactor 2 leagues? I think many of them are still not aware of this mod, and if they are, they might fear that organizing a race would not be worth because a long, paid historic track is often quite difficult in terms of the number of participants. Pescara is a bit of a tricky track for rF2 anyway, as we don't have any 50s F1 cars, except for those mods on the ISR website.
This is what sucks about moddable sims. 1. Studios do everything to protect themselves but nothing for the modder and painter. 2. Twenty years ago should have been a " Global Modder's and Painter's Co Op " That everyone pays dues to, just like your local clubs. That has a charter of ethics. That rubber stamps only content that passes muster. University with real time courses by best modders ( make them a living ) All engines of course. That is the future !
Great footage from this artist. https://www.flyandrive.com/index.ph...-vita-grand-prix-de-pescara-1957-reproduction
Some artistic freedom there... because if it were Anita Ekberg, we wouldn't be able to see Sterling Moss' face.
This has fast become my go to track for testing and enjoy watching sessions. Yesterday I was doing a fresh OS for my second tower and "watched" Pescara for 2 hours. No 2 laps are ever the same, thank you sim gods for ISI.
In that picture either cars are too big, or people are too small. Not to mention low value due to having to use sexual appeal of woman, and it goes in half of the paintings. It is a childish painting. I guess that is what sells. Maybe paid tracks needs more posters and adds with women in them, and also hot high poly 3D specators women. Here are his source images: One thing I like in that painting is vibrant colors. Although it was obviously draughty, the rich greens are still out there: And there are no colors
After finally catching up on purchasing a bunch official content I picked this up last week. Took a bit but to finally got to try it out. Fantastic fun and much higher speed circuit than I was expecting. Great job and look forward to turning many fun laps from here on out. Also looking forward to an rF2 release for Napoli as well.
Thanks for all your messages guys! The Napoli version will be sorted soon, I'm at my parents' for Christmas/New Year and I was counting on using the PC that's there, but the scattering tool and viewport as a whole is lagging in Max to the extent that I can't position the billboard crowds. A couple of things have been reported regarding Pescara as well, so I'll sort those out too, objects not visible in mirrors etc. Happy New Year to you all!
Not sure if it's been reported, but lots of objects don't light properly at night, particularly those evil cement posts.
