I couldn't believe my eyes ...... ISI is asking money for something they need our help to finish ? Unless of course I'm dead wrong, and BETA doesn't mean what comes before an actual product. Stig / Hotkeys
Where those people come from? You pay for pre-order of rF 2. By doing that, you can already using beta version.
The beta is accessible to people who PRE-ORDER RFactor, not forced, and not close to a finished product. Your not paying for the beta, your pre-paying for the finished product, and get to test and try the beta if you want before it comes out. I feel ISI was very clear about this.
You're paying a beta game + full game + 18 months membership a very low price (for a 2012 game like this)... You want more? lol
You pay for the FULL GAME that gives you access to the beta. Actually you will get a refund if you are not happy with the game.
beta is the name of a state of development, and it describes the current state of rF2 very well. And yes, you can either pay now or await a free demo when we have left the beta stage. Your eyes seem to work pretty well. Tim.
This is one of the cheapest modern games I have bought in a long time, that I will play alot longer than any other game. $57NZD (or $100NZD for lifetime purchase) vs the $120NZD I payed for SHIFT 2, and SHIFT 2 I played for all of 3 months. So I had no problem pre purchasing rFactor 2 and therefore having access to the BETA. If you don't want to pay, fine. Wait. Don't complain.
Wish more game companies would offer beta versions in this way. I think its a great idea. The beta itself is extremely playable, especially the 1960s cars, and it can only get better and better in the months and years as more and more gets added, just like the original.
Yep, not only that, but having thousands of people testing the software on thousands of different platform configurations speeds up bug finding. It helps both the developer and keeps the community happy too, a win all round!
Yeah, think I'm going to close this one down--don't want it to turn ugly. He's perfectly entitled to his opinion and certainly he's more than welcome to purchase later after we've reached the first gold release, or not at all if he chooses. There's been a few products that have done what we're doing (pre-purchase with beta access)--DCS Black Shark comes readily to mind, and there were folks that felt the same about them as well. Some people feel more comfortable with a final product and the traditional way games have been done--it's all good
